Committed to ‘Reaping God’s Harvest’
As we begin this New Year, we recognize the truth of what Jesus said in John 4: 35: "Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." Indeed, the field is ready, but committed laborers are needed to reap the harvest. God has given us, members of His Church, another opportunity to demonstrate our commitment as laborers with Him in His field. Only those who have experienced "a revival of true godliness," however, will be empowered to do the work required of the reapers.

Therefore, it is important that every member on the Island of New Providence and the local elders in the Family Islands attend our upcoming Convention. This Convention has been planned to enhance the realization of a revival among us. Under the theme "United in Warmth of Fellowship," The Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists will hold its 2004 Winter Convention January 7 - 10. Again, we need to remind you that approximately $200,000 is needed to jump- start the rebuilding of Bahamas Academy and the procurement of land for churches such as Adelaide, Ebenezer and our recently formed churches. The Blessed Hope in Driggs Hill, The Bluff Church in Eleuthera, Lowe Sound in North Andros, Inagua and Cat Island districts need our support. So you now know that $200,000 is only to jump-start these projects. Special envelopes are provided for your offering during convention. Also, during the Mid-Year Convention, we will call for each member to give a special gift of $100.

All of the activities of Convention 2004 have been planned to benefit every person who attends. Do take advantage of this opportunity to be informed, inspired, and encouraged. As you journey through this New Year 2004 "United in warmth of fellowship," we will be empowered to reap the harvest.
