ACTS 2000 Refreshing & Invigorating
Expressions of pleasure and satisfaction were echoed from site to site throughout Nassau, Grand Bahama and Abaco
during the first week of the Revelation of Hope Prophecy Seminar. Tele-Evangelist Mark Finley once again lived up and surpassed expectations of many, as he presented in a most powerful and vivid manner messages from the book of Revelation. Though familiar messages to the average Adventist, they proved refreshing and invigorating as they were presented, aided by modern and live-graphics. Indeed, technology when employed wisely and accurately serves to transmit the gospel colorfully and expeditiously. It was also gratifying to see familiar faces on the screen at the National Arena in Kingston, Jamaica via satellite uplink. These, our colleagues, brothers and sisters of our Union have made us feel proud to belong to such a Union. We now envision and anticipate the day when the Bahamas would become a host site for a similar series of meetings.
As of this writing only Grand Bahama comprising of 3 sites, Abaco 2 sites and, Exuma are receiving the Acts 2000 signal. Nevertheless, we thank God for 19 sites that are operating (not 21 as reported in last weeks Logos). Following the crusade the satellite equipment may be used to receive 3ABN or ACN programming.
During the final week, Administration implores all members to embrace the remaining days to attend, participate, invite friends and pray earnestly for those persons in the valley of decision. We are convinced that many will be the victories next weekend. Administration
LISTEN-UP Back and Exciting
Surprise of all surprises was experienced as I returned home Sunday to notice that Listen-Up, the a famous youth-oriented 30 minute TV programme of our Church was on air. Pleased was I to see drama, talent, youth, experience and camera works combined to present a powerful message of "right choice". More was I delighted when I learned that Samantha Wilson, a graduate of BA Secondary, scripted the play for an AY at Living Faith. Kudos Samantha, Andrea, Curtis and all. By the way the General Manager of ZNS was thrilled with this airing that he has offered to have the program aired again free. The repeat airing will be on Sunday, April 15. Dont miss it and encourage those characters. Editor

Dr. Carey Promotes NCU In Eleuthera District
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, Dr. John Carey, Education Director for the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventist, visited the High Schools on the islands of Eleuthera, Harbour Island, and Spanish Wells.
He came in response to a request from Pastor Williams, the district Pastor. His mission was to promote Seventh-day Adventist tertiary education at Northern Caribbean University, our Union School.
On Monday morning we visited the Central Eleuthera High School in Palmetto Point. Here a short video was shown, and we addressed the eleventh and twelfth graders at the School.
We then proceeded to the Preston H. Albury High School in Rock Sound Eleuthera, where the Principal, an alumnus of N.C.U, proudly spoke of her alma mater, and encouraged the students to attend to obtain a good Christian education.
On Tuesday, we headed north and spoke to the North Eleuthera High School, Harbour Island and Spanish Wells all age Schools.
Even though the time was short and the brochures were few, several students asked for application forms, after a number of their questions had been answered. In addition various pamphlets and leaflets were distributed to the students.
As a result of the visit, some one hundred students were informed about Christian education, at Northern Caribbean University.
Some points that were emphasized are:
A. The low cost of Education at Northern Caribbean University.
B. The cultural similarities of the countries within the region.
C. The international flavour of the University.
D. The variety of courses offered.
E. The progressive expansion of the University.
F. The flexibility of payment, in conjunction with the work/study programme.
G. The accreditation of the University.
H. The entrance requirements.
It is hoped that this can be the beginning of an annual event, as we seek to point out the benefits of quality Seventh-day Adventist education at Northern Caribbean University.

SOUTHWEST LAY FEDERATION ESTABLISHED BRANCH SABBATH SCHOOL IN ADELAIDE
The new executive officers and team members of the Southwest lay federation, bustled with excitement, led by our president Elder Eric Bain, kicked off their administration activities with an impressive Federation Rally at the Good New Church January 28, 2001, which was well attended by the three sisterhood of churches -Berea, Good News and Hillview.
Being thankful to God for the initial signs of that success, they began immediately to seize the momentum of the moment by making plans for the new administrative year. Under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, requests were made of the Sabbath School teachers and unit leaders in the respective churches to submit names of all delinquent Sabbath School students and baptized members. The exercise proved useful. It established an area where the need for re-evangelization was urgently needed in the Adelaide Village, owing that most names appeared on the list, resides in that area.
Southwest Lay Federation officers and team members began to blitz the Adelaide community, knocking on doors, interacting with its residents and securing firm commitments for their attendance to a much needed Branch Sabbath School in their village. The responses were overwhelming. We not only got former members committed but also persons who were not members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. God be praised!
February 24, 2001, the first Branch Sabbath School was held, 29 precious souls attended. Because of the warmth feeling of the Holy Spirits presence, the Federation questioned those in attendance if it was okay to return the following Sabbath with a similar program, to which they all agreed. To this writers mind, the theme of the last General Conference Session "Almost Home," was never more evident, as one looked into the faces of the children and see the intensity, the gaze as they sat and listened to the lesson study and the stories. Yes, there is still a hunger for the word of God in our villages, towns and cities today.
Throughout this quarter we have been sensitized to the Great Prayers and Prayers of the Bible, let us now activate that which we have learned from Job, Moses, Elijah, Hezekiah, Jesus and others to pray prayers of despair, supplication, triumph, reformation and submission . We solicit your prayers on behalf of the Adelaide Branch Sabbath School, already our numbers are increasing and we are in need of a meeting-place with rest-room facilities.

HIS GRACE WILL LEAD THEM HOME
"Suffer the little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me, for such is the kingdom of heaven." These words spoken by Jesus many years ago, stood afresh in our minds as the children of the Marsh Harbour and Salem SDA Churches were ministered to on Wednesday, February 28, 2001, at our first monthly childrens prayer meeting and on Sabbath, March 10th. At our first childrens church service.
Loud and joyous singing could be heard at the beginning of each meeting. -the voices of the children praising their God. They praised Him in skits, testimonies and with their prayers while over 40 of their peers looked on. Learning was skillfully and cleverly intertwined in each activity to ensure the childrens attention at all times.
Keeping in line with the theme "His grace will lead them home," the Marsh Harbour Childrens Ministry is trying, by Gods grace, to help children realize that Christ is their Saviour too. He lives and accepts their praise, He hears their prayers, and they can look forward to seeing His face and living with Him forever. -
Lueann Thompson, CMDMARSH HARBOUR SDA CHURCH PATHFINDER OVERNIGHT CAMP/HIKE
On March 3, 2001, the Marsh Harbour S.D.A. Pathfinder Club hosted its first overnight camp which culminated in a nine (9) mile hike, from the Marsh Harbour Church to Snake Cay in the south end of the island. The venture began with a line call at approximately 10:45 p.m., after the conclusion of an old time fashion social enjoyed by all. Following the line call, the group settled down to designated sleeping areas.
Like the "Energizer bunny" each Pathfinder was up and ready to go by 4:00 a.m. At approximately 4:45 a.m. we filed through the gates of the church where we took a southerly direction. The group of 29 Pathfinders/Adventurers and 10 Master Guides/Master Guides-in-Training enjoyed an invigorating walk along the road. The leaders of the group went ahead to set the "track and trail" signs. The Pathfinders were then required to locate and follow the "track and trail" signs, to the final destination. Much to the delight of the leaders, all were able to follow the signs.
Our journey from Marsh Harbour to Snake Cay lasted for approximately 3 hours. While at Snake Cay, the group had an entertaining 1/2 hour of fishing, which resulted in one member catching a fish. We arrived back at the church at approximately 9:00 a.m. where our venture ended with a sumptuous breakfast prepared by the fellowship ministry of our church.
Under the banner of Prince Emmanuel our supreme leader and our church leader Pastor H. Roger Moncur, we would like to ask that you continue to pray for the youth of the Marsh Harbour S.D.A. Church, as we seek to make heaven our home.
