It was last year I conducted a crusade in the Fox Hill area and a lady came to the meetings. She accepted the message and was baptized by Pastor Kent Price and me. Several weeks later I got a call that this sister was troubled by demonic forces who wanted to destroy her and everybody who lived in her house. I am told that the house was shaking and a deep male voice was speaking through her. The demon was heard to say, "I will break your teeth. . . who told you to get baptized. . ., call your Pastor, then we will see. . ." Her brother-in-law went into the house; the demon said "he is not the pastor." When I arrived along with my first elder, Brother Adny Joseph, we sang, prayed and read the Psalms. The demon started to react, but we commanded him not to speak. After awhile, the lady calmed down. But what struck me as the fact that she said, "Pastor, when you baptized me several weeks ago, I did not feel that I got wet or soaked." Apparently, whatever was holding her was so strong, it prevented her from feeling the water. So I told her that she had not truly repented of her sins and submitted herself to Christ. Then we reasoned that she did not feel that she got wet, we needed to dip her again. So we arranged to rebaptize her on a Friday with two other persons in her house who decided to recommit their lives to the Lord.
At the campsite we started to sing and pray, even though she seemed far away. I baptized the other two persons first, leaving her for the last.
When she was brought to me, even before I lifted my hands to make my pronouncement, she started to struggle. She did not want to go under the water. Three deacons and I wrestled with her. We prayed, sang songs and recited scripture, then I commanded the evil spirit to leave the lady in Jesus' name. After about 10 minutes, I offered a silent prayer, asking the Lord to free her. I said, "Lord, when you deliver her, help her to raise her head and look toward the sky." That was my cue. Finally, she raised her head once, then dropped it. She dropped it again, but after it fell a third time, she became focused. I called her by name. She responded, "Yes, pastor." At that point I knew she had been delivered. I made my pronouncement, and dipped her three times. (I am not saying that in every case this is what anyone should do, this is simply my experience.) There were several other faithful members on the beach singing, praying and interceding before the Lord for that miracle, and we praised his name for that.
The story does not end here. Several months after the incident, this same sister went back into the world, playing with the devil. Continued on p. 2
PASTORS TO VISIT ADVENTIST BRETHREN IN CUBA
On June 1 a delegation of pastors and their wives will travel to Cuba to share in a weekend of preaching, fellowship and dialogue.
It has been over a year since talks began regarding a mission visit to one of our neighbouring countries, Cuba. Recently, Mr. C. Melvin Lewis, Treasurer of Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and Pastor Gary King traveled to Cuba and met with church officials in an attempt to determine the possibility of a trip and needs of the brethren there. Pastor Daniel Fontaine Marquez, president of the Cuban Union, was elated to have the two workers visit and anticipates the day when our president, Pastor K. D. Albury, and the delegation of pastors and their wives will arrive in Cuba. Pastor Marquez has emphasized their immediate need for medicine and text books in Spanish for seminary students, as well as religious literature in Spanish. Consequently, a special love offering will be collected on Sabbath, May 12. These funds will be used to purchase non-prescription drugs, and the appropriate books.
Each member is requested to play his part in this noble venture to aid the work and humanitarian needs of our membership in Cuba. -L. A. Johnson, Editor

NORTHERN CARIBBEAN UNIVERSITY'S MONTH
West Indies Union has set aside May, 2001 for each church member to join in partnership with Northern Caribbean University (NCU) and West Indies Union to save our children through educational programmes.
We are pleased with the progress made at NCU in recent times. To maintain the recognition gained and to be of greater service to its constituency, NCU will have to continue to improve the physical plant to accommodate an expanded curriculum and additional students. Three major projects that have been targeted are a worship centre, student housing and a gymnasium.
Against the theme "In Partnership to Save our Children," this project will also benefit our SDA schools in the Bahamas. Twenty-five percent of the proceeds collected during the month of May will go toward local educational needs. Some of these needs include providing equipment, training of teachers, tuition assistance, refurbishment of buildings, meeting the cost of operating our schools, etc. We hope that the full participation of our members will allow us to address these needs.
Every member is being asked to contribute at least ten dollars (B$10.) toward this drive. If each one gives the amount recommended or more, our goals will be realized. The final date for collection is May 26, 2001.
SDA NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS CLOSED FOR 1 DAY

In every consultation, lecture or cooking class, the Bible was used and God was lifted up. Requests for Bible studies resulted from this outreach program. -Edward Rolle
A CASE OF EXORCISM
Continued from p. 1
We visited her and reminded her how the Lord had delivered her. We told her she should not have turned her back on Him.
During Acts 2000, she came to the meetings. (Pastor Mark Finley did a tremendous job. To God be the glory. We had a total of 34 baptisms.) Last Sabbath we made arrangements for a baptism. This same sister along with 10 others, came forward in response to an appeal. During the baptism ceremony she did not show any sign of demon possession. It was not until she got into the water, where I was standing baptizing someone else, that she told a deacon holding her hand that she felt strange. Little did we realize that she had relapsed and was worse than before.
It was, indeed, an intense struggle. Seven of us men had to \hold her. We prayed, sang songs and recited scripture, then I commanded the evil spirit to depart from her in the name of Jesus of Nazareth. After 20 to 25 minutes, the Lord set her free. We thank God for his wondrous works to the children of men.
Please continue to pray for her and all of us, as you know that voodooism and spiritualism are rampant in these end times. But God's power is stronger than any power on earth. -Pastor Edward St. Fleur
