Situated in the Northwest section of the island are Pastor E. D. Clarke and the Discovery of Truth gospel team. In the far east is Evangelist Edward St. Fleur in the "Jesus --The Light of The Millennium Crusade" on Adderley Street. Then on Parkgate Road, Evangelist T. B. Sturrup launched The Power of Truth Gospel Crusade.
Reports indicate solid preaching, lively singing and an impressive attendance. God is to be praised for the initial signs of success especially when we consider the hurculean effort put forth by Pastor Basil and team who had a few days to pitch their tent and ready themselves for the Sunday's opening. Of course, there is more to these
meetings than colourful tents, great preaching backed up by technology; these are designed to offer Christ and His Word of hope to a our nation, which unfortunately is riddled with crime. It has almost become a part of our weekly experience to hear of homicides, drug use, robberies and the like. Through these crusades it is our view and conviction that lives will be transformed and the Bahamas will be made a better place.
This weekend two more crusades will kick off. These are The Millennium Crusade for Christ in the Yellow Elder Gardens area with Evangelist M. A. Smith and an effort over in Freeport, Grand Bahama, spearheaded by Evangelist P. A. Scavella.
Though these efforts are costly, it is the conviction of the Conference administration that they are necessary and must be conducted. We only request all members to support their respective crusades. With a united effort, great will be the outcome of these thrusts and we the members stand to be further inspired and encouraged. -Editor
SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST POSITION STATEMENT ON HOMOSEXUALITY
The Seventh-day Adventist Church recognizes that every human being is valuable in the sight of God, and we seek to minister to all men and women in the spirit of Jesus. We also believe that by God's grace and through the encouragement of the community of faith, an individual may live in harmony with the principles of God's Word.
Seventh-day Adventists believe that sexual intimacy belongs only within the marital relationship of a man and a woman. This was the design established by God at creation. The Scriptures declare: "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh" (Gen. 2:24 NIV). Throughout Scripture this heterosexual pattern is affirmed. The Bible makes no accommodation for homosexual activity or relationships. Sexual acts outside the circle of a heterosexual marriage are forbidden (Lev. 20:7-21; Rom. 1:24-27; 1 Cor. 6:9-11).
Jesus Christ reaffirmed the divine creation intent: "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one." (Matt. 19:4-6, NIV). For these reasons Adventists are opposed to homosexual practices and relationships.
Seventh-day Adventists endeavour to follow the instruction and example of Jesus. He affirmed the dignity of all human beings and reached out compassionately to persons and families suffering the consequence of sin. He offered caring ministry and words of solace to struggling people, while differentiating His love of sinners from His clear teaching about sinful practices.

COMMUNION WITH GOD
Has your Christian life become dry, meaningless and joyless? God has a wonderful way to change all that and completely revitalize, renew, invigorate and make your Christian life the most satisfying experience you ever had in your whole life.
God personally invites you and me through the Prophet Isaiah to develop on our knees an everlasting relationship that will bring complete fulfillment, great joy and total satisfaction to our lives.
This is an unconditional invitation irrespective of where we are spiritually. God says to you and me in Isaiah 1:18, "Come now and let us reason together." Here the Creator of the Universe says to us individually: Come now, I want to have a two way communication with you, talk to me in sincere prayer, and I will talk to you by that still small voice.
My precious brother and sister, God promises that you will hear a voice behind you saying, "This is the way, walk ye in it." Isaiah 30:21. However this precious experience will not come to casual seekers, or if we love our position or possessions or worldly pleasures and sin more than we love the living God.
Let nothing divert from Bible study and prayer: "Let nothing, however dear, however loved,
absorb your mind and affections, diverting you from the study of God's Word, or from earnest
prayer. There may be no ecstasy of feeling, but there should be an abiding, peaceful trust. "You
will find Me when you search for Me with all your heart." -Tibor and Maria Shelley
