Certified Strength
Conditioning Specialist
Bahamian,
Gerard A. Brennen, son of Barrington and Annick Brennen, recently passed the
exam to become a Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). The
National Certification Commission (USA) states that “Certified Strength and
Conditioning Specialists are professionals who apply scientific knowledge to
train athletes for the primary goal of improving athletic performance. They
conduct sport-specific testing sessions, design and implement safe and
effective strength training and conditioning programs and provide guidance
regarding nutrition and injury prevention." Gerard graduated from Union
College in May of 2007 with his Bachelors Degree in Health and Human
Performance with emphasis in business sports. He did his internship in
corporate wellness at Lincoln Plating, Nebraska. His goal is to become an
exercise physiologist. Gerard is residing in Lincoln, Nebraska, where
he is
working and preparing for more certifications.
