Community Services Director

June to November: A Time to Take Precautionary Steps!

It is now the first week in June, and Tropical Storm Arthur has already rushed over the Yucatan Peninsula leaving life-threatening floods in Belize and Mexico. The second named system, Bertha, is history. As we listen to the weather reports, we must hearken and take the appropriate steps to preserve life and property in the event a storm/hurricane should travel the route of our beautiful land.

Our conference is well prepared to mobilize its leaders and members in the event there is a need for service to the community. Some of our churches are registered with NEMA as Hurricane Shelters. Our Community Service Leaders have dedicated themselves to the service of mankind, so let us continue to pray that they will be fortified with energy and vigor as we face these fearful months for some in our nation. Let us be encouraged by the Word of God that says, "He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat" (Ps.147 v. 14). Collectively, we can petition God to grant us a peaceful season and provide for all of our needs.
