Director for the World Church Adventist News Network
Garrett Caldwell will direct public relations for the Seventh-day
Adventist Church. Now the church is selecting Caldwell, who combined
a communication degree with his pastoral studies in college, to
serve as its chief public relations officer.

Pastor, Mother Burned to Death. Hindu extremists are being
blamed for the death of a Seventh-day Adventist pastor in Orissa,
India late last week, local church leaders reported. Samuel Nayak,
pastor of the Phulwani Adventist Church, and his mother were burned
to death during anti-Christian violence sweeping the region of
India, said Gordon Christo, communication director for the Southern
Asia Division.

to direct U.S. religious freedom panel Adventist Review
Staff/Adventist New Network August 1, 2008 Silver Spring,
Maryland, United States. A veteran Seventh-day Adventist religious
freedom advocate announced last month that he has accepted the top
staff post of the United States Commission on International
Religious Freedom. James D. Standish, Esq., director of
Legislative Affairs at the Seventh-day Adventist Church world
headquarters for the past seven years, will now serve as executive
director of the United States Commission on International Religious
Freedom.

Union/ Inter- American Division Bible Bowl: Each
local church A.Y. leader is requested to submit the
name of a youth representative (ages16-30) to the
Conference Youth department office by Monday,
September 1, 2008. The Bahamas Conference run-offs
will be held on Friday, September 12, 2008. The
winner will represent the Bahamas Conference at the
West Indies Union level in November at NCU in
Jamaica.

to Hold Annual Prayer Breakfast The Seventh-day
Adventist Educators Association will hold their
annual Prayer Breakfast and a Mathematics Workshop
conducted by Mrs. Greta Kemp, Sunday, September 7,
2008, 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m., at the Living Faith
Church. This is going to be an important
seminar for teachers and parents.
