For Good or For Evil

"For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in our bodies." 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 10.

Imagine if someone followed you around with a video camera your whole life and you could never escape it, no matter where you went or what you did. This video camera would be special. It would not only record everything you do, but it would also capture everything you THINK. All your mean or angry thoughts would suddenly be available for everyone to hear. Every word you muttered under your breath would be as loud as normal conversation.

Imagine that this someone recorded your every thought and deed yesterday. What would your video reveal? Would you be proud of this one-day "episode" of your life? Would God be proud of it?

Kind of scary to think about isn't it? Of course, God doesn't follow us around with a video camera, but He is God. He knows EVERYTHING about us. One day, we will be judged for everything we have done in our lives. So watch what you do and remember that God sees, hears and knows everything.

Time:

"...Do not squander time, for that's the stuff life is made of." Benjamin Franklin

One thing many of us come to discover is that time is a very precious commodity and there never seems to be enough of it. One thing we know for sure is that we all have time to do something. Every minute of the day we are committing ourselves to something or someone. The amount of time we spend on certain activities is a reflection of how important those things are in our lives. The dreams we have are dependent on the amount of time we spend pursuing those dreams. This week, reflect on the fact that God has granted us a fixed amount of time to be on this earth. Don't you think He has something special He wants us to do with that time? Read Ecclesiastes 8:6 & 7. Then read the entire chapter. What do you think the author is trying to say about what God thinks about time? Do you think He wants all of us to spend our time spreading the gospel? Do you think God would approve of what you do with your time?

What's Going On?

"Special breaking news! Samson was strong again just last night in the capital city of Gaza! With his strength he killed thousands maybe even millions of people (most likely Philistines). Not only Philistines did he kill but also himself. Very very perculiar day. It started when Samson had his hair cut and lost his strength. After that the Philistines put out his eyes making him blind. They made him their slave, brought him to parties just to laugh at him and make a mockery of him. Just yesterday he was spotted at a party in Gaza looking tired. Sources say leaned on a pillar and did something. Word on the street is that he was praying. After that he pushed the pillars over and the building went tumbling down. No Philistine in the building survived. Go to the capital on 201 street and 22 avenue to see what's left of the poor Philistines" Author: Stephanie French
