The Restoration Parable
by Peggy Harris W.A.S.H. Board Chair

From the Celestial Chronicles

Once upon a time, way down in the deep vast Universe on the small blue planet called Earth, there was a small seed planted in the land called Mary.  The Master Creator put this seed of an idea into the minds of several healers and their helpers.  From this small beginning began a glorious plant.  The idea was to have the plant grow and flourish in a garden that would attract the many local bees, birds and other animal life to its shelter.

That is exactly what happened!  The plant grew sturdily in its small plot for many years.  It busily stretched in several areas and became renowned for several abilities and was a blessing to all around it.

Later on the plant became content with success and finally some slugs began to eat away at its roots.  It is not known just how it happened but finally the once thriving growing plant became smaller, becoming almost puny and was threatened with extinction.   There were many dry spots in the plant, individual parts that stopped growing and just became dead and dry.

It got to the place where there was nothing these dead dry parts could do and they were just there.  Instead of birds, bees and other animals coming to be nourished by the plant, the slugs of discontent, doubt and doom became fat and multiplied.

Then one day a melodious voice was heard in the deep vast Universe that said, "Can this dry bush come back to life?"  It was the Master Creator looking down at this small bush planted so long ago in the land called Mary.  Only this Master Creator could begin speaking to the dead parts of this bush.  Only this Infinite Spirit could breath new life, rebuild and restore this drooping bush.  Only then could the bush provide the shelter and nurture that it was originally designed for, to bring hope and life to the surrounding animals, birds and bees of this part of the small blue planet called Earth.

Looking closely at the bushy dried up plant there was no breath in the dead parts.   The Preserver called out to remaining parts of the bush and called out, "Dying plant, predict to the dead parts that the great I AM will bring you back to life."   So the remaining parts of the once lively plant did as the Restorer asked.   The plant could only watch in awe as the dead parts began to turn from death to life.

But there was still no breath in the parts so again the Preserver called out once again to the parts of the plant to predict the coming of the Wind. The plant called out "Come, Wind, from every direction to breathe into these dead parts and bring them back to life."

That is exactly what happened to the dead parts.  They became totally alive again, thriving, growing, giving praise and thanks to the Great Restorer.  Now they were enabled to fulfill the original purpose that they had been planted for in this particular spot in the land of Mary.  The bees, birds and animals found the nurture, hope and the life they longed for in this restored once again beautiful recreated plant.

Come, you who are healers and helpers in the Beltsville Church in the land of Mary.   Let us join together as we originally did and work with the Master Creator to cultivate the plant so it will grow and flourish in the garden once again.  Then all the surrounding creatures will find shelter in its shade.
