Treachery, Vindication
By Peggy Harris, September 14, 2001 in memory of the September 11 attacks against the USA

Our everyday lives and out spiritual lives are intertwined. What affects one affects the other. Tragedies can drive us apart or bring us together as they can also drive us from God or bring us closer to Him.

Our everyday part and out spiritual part run into each other as described here in these words. As we deal with life, we also rely on out spiritual connections to see us through. We cannot do one without the other.

Yes, we are patriotic. But greater than that, we are God's children and citizens of Heaven! Trying times are hard and we learn to lean on the everlasting arms of God who eternally holds us all in His hands.

In spite of the treachery wrecked upon us by our enemies and from Satan, we have vindication through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

TREACHERY,

VINDICATION

Out of the clear blue sky came disaster,
Tearing apart buildings,
Searing through the hearts of all
Who watch the tragedy unfold.

  Over six thousand years ago
Treachery struck the perfect universe.
One third of glorious heavenly angels
Succumbed to the wiles and lies of the evil one.
Into your hands, oh Lord
We commit our tortured sorrowing souls.
Oh, lady, are you still standing there?
Are you still holding your lamp?

Victims of these many years of battle
Line the halls of history as well as pages
From the Holy Book.
Oh Lamb of God how long must this endure?
Oh, God of our ages past,
Be with us now in the hour
Of our great need to be mended.
Still the rapid beat of our tortured hearts.

Father and Son stand in the way
Of our certain destruction.
We hear your words of hope.
"I will come quickly."
Father and son presidents stand together
In memorial of two great
Earth shaking war events of our time.
Pledging to make our world safe again.

In song and praise we give You our faint hearts.
We are so feeble against this battle of sin.
Only in You can we find victory.
Only in Your power can we survive this holocaust.
Coming together in prayer and by
Singing our wounded hearts are revived.
See how the prayer song to the Holy One
Lifts the spirits of those listening.

The universe is amazed at the power of this
Holy Trinity working together to bring
Peace to an unmerciful world.
Lift our spirits now by Your Majestic Holiness.
Soon, very soon will be the retribution
Of the enemies of our civilization.
Oh, lady hold your lamp high
For you hold our hearts high also.

Even so, come Lord Jesus, save us not!
Prepare our hearts so that as we look
Over the heavenly marble walls at our enemies
We will see those distorted by sin lost to eternity.
And we will weep.
And we will weep with You.
