Prayer for Ethiopia

Dear God of the Universe.
We bow before your majesty.
Before we can pray for our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia
We must admit our own failings.

Forgive my impatience and
My lack of faith that You can solve all my problems
If I will but turn them over to You!
Take my frail human spirit and give me Your Spirit.

I have done wrong and harm
At times that I have misrepresented You.
Help me, dear Father!
Give me a clean heart!

Listen to the prayers from around the world
That are lifted up to You
For intervention on behalf
Of our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia.

You are all powerful!
You listen to the cries for help!
Holy Spirit come now into all our hearts!
Cleanse us each one whether church leader or member.

We are your children.
Don’t forsake us.
Forgive us our wrongs to each other and to You.
Create a right spirit in each of us.

We wait humbly for you, Holy Spirit.
We give our hearts, minds, and being to you, Sweet Jesus.
Nothing we have to offer
Is any value except as we are blessed by You!

 Come now.
Give us peace.
Help our faith.
Grant us a new life in You.

We want You to come soon, very soon.
We want You to look good before the world.
We need You, God!
Help us now!

 Thank you, Creator of the Universe
For giving Yourself for us.
In You we are all of one family, one tribe, one hope!
Thank you for saving us from ourselves!

Praise be to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
This small group is the greatest influence here on earth
And all through the Universe!
With this power and majesty at work in us, we cannot fail!
