Paraphrased thoughts on Matthew 28:19-20

Friends come in all sizes and shapes;
To comfort,
To listen,
To help,
To teach,
To share,
When times are good
And not so good.

Friends encourage me,
Laugh with me,
And care about me.

A true friend lifts my spirit,
Speaks my language,
Understands my aches,
Shared my sorrows,
Takes time from their busy life,
As they brighten
My corner of life.

I am thankful to my friends for
The inspiration they give to me,
For pointing me heavenward,
For helping me to better understand my complex self,
For the giving of their selves.

God wants me for a friend,
To comfort, to listen,
To help,
To teach,
To share,
His love with others
When times are good
And not so good.
