The Junior Sabbath School class is all wrapped up in Bible History! Can you guess who our Mummy is?

Laura leads the Junior Sabbath School class.  What a fine looking group!  Looks like a good discussion. Paul leads the Early Teen class.  Don't they all look studious?  How does he motivate them into the Word?

Adult Sabbath School

The Traverse City church has two Sabbath School classes meet to discuss the Seventh-day Adventist Sabbath School quarterly lesson each week.  The topic for the 1st quarter of 2005 is His Wondrous Cross.

Adult Sabbath School #1 meets in the sanctuary from 9:30 - 10:30.  Dave is the teacher, but it looks like he's hidden behind the stand. Adult Sabbath School #2 meets in the Multi-Purpose room.  On a bright sunny day like today, we get an additional spotlight on our study.
Adult Sabbath School #3 meets in the Community Service area.  Our Spanish Language Adult Sabbath School also meets in the Community Service Area.
Even in a new church building, we seem to be pressed for space, but as you can see we enjoy studying the Bible wherever we can find some room to sit together!

You can participate in a weekly nurturing process known as Sabbath School. The Adventist Church operates a school each Sabbath for all age groups in almost every church around the world. While the curriculum is designed by professionals within the church, each division of the local school is manned by volunteers. The Sabbath School is a 70-minute meeting conducted before the worship service to achieve four basic goals:

1. Bible Study—Each level of the Sabbath School has a printed Sabbath School Bible Study Guide. It covers a topic of study for a three-month period. Each participant is encouraged to study the Bible daily in order to develop faith in God and the truth of His Word.

2. Fellowship—Each class attempts to develop a climate that encourages freedom to express what one has learned from the week’s Bible study and to share prayer requests.

3. Community Concern—Time should be spent in each class to learn how to share one’s faith with others in the community.

4. World Missions—An emphasis is placed on the worldwide mission activities of the church, and opportunity is given to support missions financially.
