Community Service - Quilting for Jesus

One activity that warms the hearts of our community is making "ugly quilts" which are given to homeless and other disadvantaged people in the Traverse City area.  Ugly quilts are made from scraps of donated cloth, and while they are made primarily to provide warmth, the talented people in our church who make them can't help but make them look nice as well.

Our school children and Pathfinders help make quilts and pack clothing so they can learn the joy of helping those less fortunate than themselves.  This children pictured here are from the 2004-2005 school year.

Some of the quilts will be sold to raise money for Community Service.  The quilts pictured below are available for purchase.  Contact Brenda Brown (or call her at 275-6143) if you are interested in buying one of these quilts.  The proceeds of any sales will go for Community Services expenses.
