Sermon: Our
Personal R & R
Scripture Reading Matthew 11:28-30
The Bible uses the term "Rest" in several places and several different words
are translated "rest" in the Old and New Testaments. It often means to stop
working, stop repetitive activities, or to renew and refresh. God knows we
humans need rest from our burdens if we are to be fully capable of
fulfilling His will.
The Sabbath provides an opportunity for rest
from our daily activities, but the key to true rest is Jesus. He is the
source of our power and is the only one that can renew us and remove our
burdens. The good news is that He offers to take our burdens if we just come
to Him and allow Him to. |
