Hearth to Hearth Ministries Updates

Vicki Kritzell from Hearth to Hearth Ministries was in Traverse City and gave us an update on their ministry in Kenya and Uganda where they run four orphanages for children who have lost their parents through AIDES or genocide. One of our Sabbath School classes has raised over $2,000 for this ministry since the 4th quarter, 2005. Vicki has just returned from Kenya and shared some of her experiences with us. There was also a Sponsor meeting in Lake Ann on Sunday evening. You can sponsor a child for $30 per month. The organization is completely volunteer, so every dollar you send goes directly to the operation of the orphanages and the building of new facilities (wells, dorms, schools) for the orphans. One of our Sabbath School classes collects an offering each week to help fund projects for orphanages in Kenya supported by Hearth to Hearth Ministries.  In the 3rd Quarter, we collected $601, which was sent to buy clothing, bedding, and other supplies for the children at the Good Samaritan Home.
