The Future

A Brief Summary

Why is this summary of future events so important?  

"Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.'" Habakkuk 2:2.  The Great Controversy explains the visions of Daniel and John (Revelation).  I have sought to give the reader an "airplane view" and to concisely outline future events.  

God has revealed to modern man from the books of Daniel and Revelation in the Bible many of the events that will soon occur.  The sad fact is that the world is flooded with inaccurate books discussing Bible prophecy.  God has been kind to me and revealed much of what is soon going to happen from the books of Daniel and Revelation.  Below you will read many Biblical predictions.  The one event that will strengthen the faith of many in God's end time prophecies is when religious intolerance gains control of the United States.  Perhaps you doubt  that will actually happen.  The fulfillment of this key prophecy will actually cause many  to choose to be loyal to God and His commandments.  At that time they will know that the rest of these predictions will  soon follow.

INTRODUCTION TO DANIEL AND REVELATION

What the book of Daniel is to the Old Testament, the book of Revelation is to the New Testament. They belong together like the trunk of a tree belongs to the root of a tree.  Daniel is the roots of future prophecy and Revelation is its trunk.  Both root and trunk are essential to have a tree.   Both Daniel and Revelation are necessary to properly understand last day prophecies.  Many of the symbols of Revelation are defined in the book of Daniel and even some other portions of the Old Testament.

Daniel chapter Two

Daniel 2 reveals the successive world rulers from Daniel's day to the second coming of Christ

Jesus calls Satan "the ruler of this world." In Daniel we are told which nations would rule the world from Daniel's day until Jesus claims rulership as the King of kings and Lord of lords. Meanwhile God has permitted Satan to test and persecute God's people through the nations of the world often controlled by apostate religious forces. In the second chapter of the book of Daniel God foretold, through a dream given to both Daniel and the king of Babylon, which kingdoms would rule the world from Daniel's day until Jesus rules as the King of kings. In the dream Daniel saw a huge metal statue. The head of this statue was made of gold. The chest and arms of this statue were made of silver. The stomach was made of brass. The legs were made of iron, and the feet of iron and clay.

Babylon - Persia - Greece - Pagan Rome - Papal Rome

1. Babylon was represented by the head of gold

2. Media Persia  was represented by the chest and arms of silver.

3. Greece was represented by the stomach of brass.

4. Pagan Rome was represented by the legs of iron.

5. Divided Europe and papal Rome were represented by the feet and the ten toes of iron and clay. Some countries of divided Europe would become as strong as iron and others as weak as clay. The iron and clay also represent papal Rome the church-state combination. The clay represents the church part and the iron represents the state part.

This dream foretold which kingdoms would rule the world in succession. Babylon was represented by the head of gold. The next nation predicted to rule the world was Media Persia represented by the chest and arms of silver. The next nation predicted to rule the world was Greece represented by the stomach of brass. The next nation predicted to rule the world was pagan Rome represented by the legs of iron. And next pagan Rome was divided into ten divisions, like the ten toes of iron and clay.

These are the countries of divided Europe, some countries would become as strong as iron and others as weak as clay. The iron and clay also represent papal Rome which is a combination of church and state, the church controlling the state. The clay symbolizes the church and the iron symbolizes the state. (Note - Media Persia and Greece were also represented as "beasts" in Daniel chapter seven, a ram and a goat) Satan, "the ruler of this world" used all these world empires to "persecute the saints of the Most High." God permitted this persecution to "test" the faith of His faithful children. John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; 7:20, 21; 1:12, 14; Revelation 2:1; 2:10; 3:10.

Next world Empire - Jesus - New Jerusalem

Jesus 'the rock of ages" comes again and His kingdom replaces all other kingdoms. He says "You watched while a stone was cut out without hands, which struck the image on its feet of iron and clay, and broke them in pieces. Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth. "And in the days of these kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed; and the kingdom shall not be left to other people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. Inasmuch as you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold." Daniel 2:34, 35, 44, 45.

Daniel Chapter One

Test of Faith

The book of Daniel opens with the city empire of Babylon at war with, conquering, and taking captive God's children from Jerusalem. The king of Babylon representing Satan, the ruler of this world overpowered the king of Jerusalem and God's chosen people taking them captive. While God's people were captives in Babylon their faith was tested. In chapter one Daniel and his three friends, studying at Babylon University, were offered the standard food of all the university students. Daniel and his friends requested and got vegetarian food. God rewarded their faithful choices with good health and clear minds. "The king" upon examining "them found them ten times better than all the" other students and leaders in his kingdom. Daniel 1:20.

Daniel Chapter Three

Test of Faith

In the third chapter of Daniel, the faith of Daniel's three friends was tested. They attended an open air meeting with thousands of others. Everyone was ordered to bow down and worship a huge idol in honor of the king of Babylon. Everyone bowed except for these three citizens of Jerusalem. The king was furious and ordered them to bow or die. They chose to obey God instead of the king and were thrown into a raging furnace of fire. The fire was so intensely hot that the men who threw them in were immediately overcome by the heat and died at the furnace entrance. The king of Babylon looked into the furnace and was amazed that not only were these three not hurt by the fire, they were walking through the fire with another person, the Son of God, Himself. They passed God's test of their faith with flying colors.

Daniel Chapter Four and Five

Test of faith

In chapters four and five, two of Babylon's arrogant kings Nebuchadnezzar, and Belshazzar failed God's test and God punished them. Nebuchadnezzar found a faithful relationship with God and was restored as king of Babylon and the other was killed in the conquest by the "kings of the East" the empire of Media and Persia. The book of Daniel ends with the King of kings, Jesus, the king of New Jerusalem winning the battle, delivering His people and transforming them so that they "shine . . . like the stars forever and ever." Daniel 12:3.

The book of Revelation completes the book of Daniel describing this war between "the king of Babylon," Satan, and the King of New Jerusalem, Jesus. Satan uses the empires of this world, called 'beasts' in Daniel and Revelation, to "make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Revelation ends with the King of New Jerusalem coming down to earth and New Jerusalem becomes the capitol city of Planet Earth and Jesus the King. "I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, "Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 12:7; 12:17; 21:2-4.

Where are the majority of God's people today, according to God?

In Babylon

Today God tells us that the majority of His people are in spiritual captivity to the man-made doctrines of the religious world that God calls spiritual Babylon. "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons " or as the King James Version quotes, "the doctrines of devils" 1 Timothy 4:1. God makes His final appeal in Revelation 18:1-4 and says "After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory. And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, "Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury." And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues."  Revelation 18:1-4.

God describes Babylon

A description of this church-state combination is revealed in chapter 17 of Revelation. "Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters, with whom the kings of the earth committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication." So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and of the Abominations of the Earth. I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

The "Great" Church

A woman in Bible prophecy is symbolic of the church.  A pure woman represents God's pure church and an impure, or harlot woman, represents the church that claims to follow Christ but is impure and follows man-made doctrine contrary to the Word of God instead.  The church of Revelation 17 is that "great" church that is full of false doctrine. She "sits on many waters" which means that she controls vast numbers of people. God calls her "the great harlot." He also calls her "Babylon the Great." This is that great church that controls "kings" and governments, "the kings of the earth."  Her leaders often wear the colors "purple and scarlet,"  some in purple, others in scarlet.  The church controls government just as a woman controls the "horse," the beast, that she rides. This "woman," this church is known for "blasphemy."   The Bible defines blasphemy as when any man declares himself to be God or to forgive the sins of others which only God can forgive. Jesus was condemned for blasphemy because the religious leaders thought he was only a man who claimed to be God and to forgive sins. If He had not been God in human flesh they would have been right.

Whenever any man , minister, priest, religious leader, pope or anyone else today declares himself to be 'God on earth' or to 'forgive sins' as some church leaders do they are committing blasphemy. And whenever  any church controls governments God calls it spiritual adultery.  Whenever church controls state, as seen in the "Christian" church of the Middle Ages, persecution of God's people always results.  In the Middle Ages it was the "church" that tortured and killed over 50,000,000 (fifty million) Christians with whom she disagreed.  See Fox's book of Martyrs. http://www.reformed.org/books/fox/fox_martyrs.html first published in 1554. Does God call just the great "mother" church Babylon or does He include the daughter churches as well?  God is calling His people out of  Babylon which includes both the "mother" church and her spiritual daughter churches who have kept many of the errors of the "great" "mother" church.  Revelation 17:3-7; John 10:33; Matthew 9:1-3.

"Those who keep the commandments of God" are called "saints"

 They do not have "the mark of the beast" and will not receive "the wrath of God."

The Babylon of Daniel's day is located in the country of Iraq. God says that the majority of His people are in Babylon and He is calling them out. Are we to believe that the majority of God's people are in Iraq today and that God is calling them out of Iraq?  No! That is not physically possible!   No, the battle is not between the king of Iraq "Babylon" and the king of Jerusalem as we saw in Daniel chapter one. The battle is between the king of this world, Satan who is known as the king of Babylon and Jesus, the King of New Jerusalem.  God says those who have the "mark of the beast" do not keep "the commandments of God"  and those who "keep the commandments of God" are called "saints" and do not have "the mark of the beast."

In Revelation 17 we have a picture of a woman riding a beast, representing popular apostate Christianity controlling governments.  In contrast, in Revelation 12, we have a picture of the Devil making war with a woman, God's true church who "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.  "And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."  The devil uses apostate Christianity to influence governments to enforce their mark of church authority, "the mark of the beast."  God warns everyone to avoid this false worship "saying with a loud voice, "If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus."  Revelation 12:17; 14:9-12.

Each Person will be individually tested

The word "Babylon" signifies "confusion." Where are the majority of God's people today? God's Word declares that they are in Babylon, saying  ""Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons. . . 'Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.'" Revelation 18:1-4.  Are they in the physical Babylon of the book of Daniel, known today as Iraq?  Are the majority of God's people in Iraq and God is calling them out? No! They are in spiritual confusion. They are in spiritual Babylon. They will each be tested just as Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, king Nebuchadnezzar, and king Belshazzar were tested. Those who pass God's test of faith will "come out of her." They will come out of spiritual confusion "to keep the commandments of God" and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12;12:17. Where does God say His people are today? He says His people are in spiritual Babylon and He is calling them out. Will you come out?

Man will say "Take the 'Mark of the Beast' or you will die."

God says "Take Mark of the Beast' and you will die."

Before Jesus comes again the faith of everyone on Planet Earth will be tested just as Daniel faith was tested and just as Daniel's friends Shadrach; Meshach; and Abednego's faith was tested. The great religions of the world will "cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Revelation 13:15-17. God says "If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God." Revelation 14:9,10.

What does God say the Mark of the Beast is?

There are all kinds of comments about what the "mark of the beast" is. The beasts of the Bible are nations and church-state powers. Daniel speaks of four "beasts," a lion, a bear, a leopard and a dragon in the seventh chapter of Daniel. They represent the same nations as we read about in Daniel chapter two. The lion represents Babylon. The bear represents Media Persia, often known simply as Persia. The leopard represents Greece and the dragon represents Rome in its two phases, pagan Rome and papal Rome. Daniel says "These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth." "The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth." How to Pass the Test

Are you ready for the great test of faith that you must pass to be retained in God's book of life and be known as one of God's saints who "keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus?" Revelation 12:17; 14:12.

Repent, turn to Jesus with all your heart. Spend time with Him understanding His earthly life in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Spend time learning from Daniel and Revelation where Jesus is now, in the Temple, the Most Holy Place of the Sanctuary of God.. "God's temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant." God wants you to understand what Christ did for you 2,000 years ago at the cross of Calvary and what He is doing for you today as your high priest in the Most Holy Place in His sanctuary, His temple, in heaven. Revelation 12:19.

The Future

A Brief Summary

War began in heaven.

About the time Planet Earth was created a war began in heaven.   The leading angel of heaven rebelled against God. Lucifer convinced one third of the angels of heaven to join his rebellion against God, God's law, and His government. Lucifer thought he had it made. I do not know what weapons he had available. We know just a little bit now--having discovered hydrogen bombs and lasers--about what he could have used. However, he attacked God at headquarters with all the power that he had available. One third of God's government was with him. "And there was war in heaven." Revelation 12:7

"And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But, he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." Revelation 12:7-9.

Lucifer is still at war against God's true children who "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."

For over six thousand years Lucifer, with other aliases such as Satan and Devil, has continued his warfare against God and against His true followers who "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" Revelation 12:17.

"And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."  Revelation 12:17.

Below you will read a quick summary of future events and the final battle between Christ and Satan as portrayed in the Bible, which the book The Great Controversy also presents from God's Word, the Bible.  Realize that the Devil passes himself off as "an angel of light." This summary reveals how he has brought and is bringing his deception within the Christian church and helps us understand quickly what the real issues are.

"Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light." 2 Corinthians 11:14.

Bible prophecy predicted the apostasy of the middle ages when the Christian church was responsible for the death of millions of other Christians with whom she disagreed. What does the Bible tell us will happen in our day within and without the Christian church? What does the future hold?

The beast of Revelation is a church-state combination, with the woman, the church, controlling the beast, the civil power. The modern "image of the beast" will also be a church-state combination who will fight against "those who keep the commandments of God."  Revelation 12:17 and Revelation 14:12.

Satan brought compromise into the church of the middle ages which resulted in the persecution and death of over 50 million people, often by torture. Read the historical account in books like the great English classic Foxe's Book of Martyrs http://www.ccel.org/f/foxe/martyrs/ written in the 1500's or The Great Controversy written in the 19th Century. The Beast power of Revelation 17 is a church-state combination, with the woman, the church, controlling the beast, the civil power. God foretells that the leading Churches of the U.S.A. will unite to control the government making "an image of the beast." Then the U.S.A. will speak "as a dragon" Eventually there will only be two classes of people - Those who "keep the commandments of God" and those who do not.(see  The Great Controversy 40,67, 70, 107 - 115, 217 -249, 382, 441-444)

"There" shall "come a falling away, . . . and that man of sin be revealed." 2 Thessalonians 2:3.

"And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast which was full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication. And on her forehead a name was written: Mystery, BABYLON The GREAT, The MOTHER of Harlots and of the Abominations of the earth.. I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus." Revelation 17:3-5.

You have seen in the newspapers of the world some of the great leaders of this great power dressed in purple and others dressed in scarlet.  

"And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Revelation 13:14-17.

"Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon." Revelation 13:11.

"Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, 'If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength.'" Revelation 14:9,10.

"Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Revelation 14:12.

Christ is judging His people now before he returns, for when He returns He says He brings His reward with Him.

Jesus is judging His children at this very moment. He is erasing their sins or their names from His book of life. Soon Jesus will finish His work of blotting out sins or names from His book of life. He will finish His work and everyone who is ready at that point will be safe forever and everyone who is lost at that point will be lost forever. That will mean that everyone's probation is over. When Probation ends God will have made His final life or death decision for each person. Everyone will be unconscious that God has ended His judgment, that God has made His final decision of who will be saved and who will be lost. (see The Great Controversy 480 - 491)

"behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Revelation 22: 12.

"Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth--to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people-- saying with a loud voice, 'Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.'" Revelation 14:6,7.

"I beheld," says the prophet Daniel, "till thrones were placed, and One that was Ancient of Days did sit: His raiment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like pure wool; His throne was fiery flames, and the wheels thereof burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came forth from before Him: thousand thousands ministered unto Him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened." Daniel 7:9, 10, R.V.

"Another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." Revelation 20:12.

"He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be." Revelation 22:11, 12.

"I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more." Isaiah 43:25.

"He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels"  Revelation 3:5.

"For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." Matthew 24:38,39.

Satan works through Babylon's two great errors to destroy the people of Planet Earth.

Satan uses the two great errors, the immortality of the soul and Sunday sacredness to destroy the human race. He uses the immortality of the soul to unite Protestants with spiritualism and Sunday sacredness to unite Protestants with the Roman power. The doctrine of the immortality of the soul opens the way for communication with the so called "spirits of the dead." Evil angels pretend to be the spirits of the apostles or dead relatives or friends. They try to convince people to believe that God's law has been changed, contrary to the Bible. "The dead know not any thing. ... there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave." Ecclesiastes 9:5, 6, 10.

"Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit." "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues."  Revelation 18:2,4

"Sorcerers ... shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

Babylon has three parts; Protestantism, Spiritualism and the Roman church. The three parts of Babylon unite against those who "keep God's commandments."

This three fold power (Protestantism, Spiritualism, and the Roman church) constitutes Babylon and will wage war with those who "keep the commandments of God" The Roman church is preparing for a fierce conflict to regain control of the world and to re-establish persecution." God will fight back by withdrawing His blessings and removing His protecting care from those who are rebelling against His law and forcing others to rebel. (see The Great Controversy 588)

"I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty." Revelation 16:13,14.

"Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to make war against the rest of her offspring-those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus." Revelation 12;17.

"Then I heard a loud voice from the temple saying to the seven angels, "Go, pour out the seven bowls of God's wrath on the earth." Revelation 16:1.

Satan works healing miracles and also destroys people and property.  He then blames it on "those who keep the commandments of God." Revelation 14:12.

Satan works on two fronts. He appears compassionate by healing people of their illnesses but, at the same time, he destroys large numbers of people, cities, and property. Satan will convince the world that this mass destruction and death is the result of violating the Sunday sabbath.  (see The Great Controversy 588, 589)

God's people call everyone to come out of Babylon.

When this happens God will use thousands of humble people to call His children to come out of Babylon. God wants them safe from the plagues that He will pour out upon those who rebel against Him and who attempt to force others to join their rebellion. (see The Great Controversy 588, 589)

Church and government leaders work together to pass laws threatening "those who keep the commandments of God" with fines, prison and death.  

"The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments."  

As a result, the churches begin pressuring governments to make laws forcing all to observe the false Sunday sabbath. The penalty for not observing this false sabbath will be fines, imprisonment, and eventually death. Leaders of church and government "unite to bribe, persuade or compel everyone to honor Sunday. " (see The Great Controversy 592, 607)

"He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Revelation 13:15-17.

"The predictions that religious intolerance would gain control in the United States, that church and state would unite to persecute those who keep the commandments of God, have been pronounced groundless and absurd. It has been confidently declared that this land could never become other than what it has been--the defender of religious freedom."  But when "the event so long doubted and disbelieved is seen to be approaching, and the third message will produce an effect which it could not have had before." Many are tried in the courts. From these trials thousands learn God's last message.

When His children are tried in courtroom trials the newspapers, radio, television and computers will carry their arguments world-wide and thousands will learn God's last warning message that would have learned it in no other way. They will stand with His commandment keeping people. They will have God's special seal of protection and be safe through the final seven last plagues that will utterly destroy Planet Earth. Many of God's children are sent to prison. Others are exiled. Still others become slaves.

Many of God's children are being sent to prison, others are being exiled and some are being used as slaves. A large number of ministers and members who once believed God's message apostatize. They fail God's test of faith.  They are not willing to be loyal to God because they fear the law that threatens them with fines, imprisonment, and death. They become enemies of their former friends who "keep the commandments of God." "The devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested." Revelation 2:10.

God pours out His Holy Spirit - God's people are strengthened for the trials and give the last message quickly.

A Death Decree is passed with a definite time in the future when it will be legal to kill God's children.

Jacob's Trouble is a time of agonizing for God's obedient children.

God calls this time when His children face the prospect of death "Jacob's trouble" God's children turn pale and tremble as they agonize with God in prayer. (see The Great Controversy 616 - 622)

"We have heard a voice of trembling, Of fear, and not of peace. Ask now, and see, Whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, And all faces turned pale? Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob's trouble, But he shall be saved out of it." Jeremiah 30:5-7.

Satan impersonates Christ.

At this time Satan uses supernatural sights in the skies to deceive the world. Satan himself impersonates Christ. He appears with such beauty and majesty and with such wonderful miracles and power that people around the world cry out "Christ has come. Christ has come." He further convinces the people that he has changed the Sabbath from Saturday, the seventh day of the week, to Sunday the first day of the week. (see The Great Controversy 624, 625)

God's people flee to the mountains.  Some end up in prison.

As the death decree draws near, God's people flee to the mountains. The wicked try to kill them as they leave the cities but angels, disguised as army soldiers, defend God's children. Others are bound in chains and put in prison. Angels come to those in prison bringing them cheer. (see The Great Controversy 615, 616, 626)

"He will dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; Bread will be given him, His water will be sure." Isaiah 33:16.

And next "the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. Then every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. And great hail from heaven fell upon men, each hailstone about the weight of a talent. The wicked make their plans to kill those who they believe have brought the judgments of God on the land. But God has prepared a spectacular and glorious surprising deliverance for those who have been loyal to Him. (see The Great Controversy 634)

At midnight armed men attack God's praying children to kill them. God's rainbow and Sun appear at midnight and God says "It is done."

Companies of armed men attack God's Children at midnight but are shocked to see an exceedingly bright rainbow shining in the midnight darkness. God's loyal children hear His voice and look up. They see Jesus on His throne and they hear Him encouraging them. All at once the Sun comes out of the midnight darkness shining as brightly as it does at noon. The streams stop flowing. Dark clouds clash together and God says "It is done." (see The Great Controversy 635, 636)

Instead of killing God's children the armed men turn and kill the ministers who led them to destruction.

The multitudes see that their unfaithful pastors preached smooth things and lies to them. They turn the very weapons they were planning to use to kill God's loyal children against their ministers who they kill.

The Greatest Earthquake ever to strike earth shakes apart entire mountain chains causing them to sink!

God's voice causes a stupendous earthquake, mountains shake. Rocks fly through the air. A gigantic hurricane causes inhabited islands to disappear. Mountain chains sink. Wicked seaports are destroyed. Immense hailstones destroy the rest of the cities and palaces that are still standing. Prison walls crumble and God's people are set free. Graves open and all who have died in the faith of the third angel's message come out with glorious new and powerful bodies. The most violent opposers of His truth and His people, are also raised to see Him coming the second time. (see The Great Controversy 637)

"a loud voice came out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, "It is done!" And there were noises and thunderings and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since men were on the earth." Revelation 16:17,18.

"And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt." Daniel 12:2.

Lightning covers the entire earth in a sheet of flame. Voices declare the doom of the wicked. The lost scream and cry in terror. God's children are completely changed. No longer are their faces pale. They now are all aglow with huge smiles and radiant joy. They join together singing songs of praises to God. All of a sudden everyone sees a hand appearing up in the sky holding two tables of stone, God's ten commandments. The enemies of God's law see that they have been fighting against God. Christ comes with millions of Angels.

As God speaks and announces the day and hour of Jesus' coming, the faces of all His children begin shining brighter then the sun. They see a small black cloud in the sky that keeps getting bigger as it approaches Planet Earth. It becomes brighter and more glorious as it comes nearer the earth. Eventually it becomes a great white cloud, its base looks like a blazing fire. Above it is an overwhelmingly bright rainbow, the rainbow of God's covenant. Jesus rides upon that cloud coming as a mighty conqueror. Millions of angels fill the sky. (see The Great Controversy 640, 641)

"Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" Matthew 13:43.

"Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, And those who turn many to righteousness Like the stars forever and ever." Daniel 12:3.

"He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him. . . . And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: King Of Kings And Lord Of Lords." Revelation 19:11 - 16.

God's children are now made immortal and rise to meet Jesus in the air. Angels bring little children to their mother's arms. They all travel together toward God's city, New Jerusalem. Before entering the city Jesus with His own right hand places a crown of glory on the head of each of His children. The redeemed share Christ's joy as they see those whom they have won to Christ through their prayers and witness. Adam sees the nail prints in the hands and feet of Jesus and falls at His feet crying "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain." Adam sees the garden of Eden again. He sees the very vines and flowers that were there 6,000 years ago. (see The Great Controversy 645)

Jesus picks fruit from the tree of life and offers it to Adam. Everyone sings "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain and lives again." The hundred and forty four thousand sing a new song of deliverance. There is no more sickness. God's children are crowned and live as part of God's royal family. (see GC 648)

Satan is left on this desolate and destroyed Planet Earth for 1,000 years of suffering

The earth is left a desolate wilderness for 1,000 years. During this thousand years Satan suffers intensely. After the thousand years Christ, His people, and His angels descend to earth. At this time Christ raises the wicked dead. They see God's Holy City, The New Jerusalem, coming down upon the flattened Mount of Olives. Christ, His people and angels enter the Holy City. (see 653 - 662)

"Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished." They continue to watch as they see a movie of His actual earthly life, baptism, fast, temptation, public ministry, deeds of love, agony in Gethsemane, betrayal, mockings, insults, tortures and cruel death. The lake of Fire purifies the earth.

Satan seems paralyzed as he sees the glory and majesty of Christ. All of the wicked turn their rage upon Satan. Fire comes down from God and also bursts from the ground. The earth's surface turns into a vast, seething lake of fire. Satan receives the greatest punishment in that fire. Satan, his angels, and all of the wicked are reduced to ashes. The fire that destroys Satan and his followers purifies the earth. (669 - 674)

Lucifer said: "I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation 14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.' Isaiah 14:13, 14;

God answered, knowing that He will definitely destroy Satan, speaks as if it had already occurred.: "Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, And I turned you to ashes upon the earth In the sight of all who saw you." Ezekiel 28:18, 19.

There will be no more Devil. No more night. Every day we will be happier than the day before.

Jesus rides upon that cloud coming as a mighty conqueror. Millions of angels fill the sky.

Everyone alive on Planet Earth becomes very pale, silent and trembles as they look up. Jesus speaks to His children and says "My grace is sufficient for you" and their face light up with joy. But their enemies have no joy. They flee to the huge holes in the ground left where mountains had been torn from their foundations. These enemies of God's law cry, weep, and tremble.

God's children are now made immortal and rise to meet Jesus in the air. Angels bring little children to their mother's arms. They all travel together toward God's city, New Jerusalem. Before entering the city Jesus with His own right hand place a crown of glory on the head of each of His children. The redeemed share Christ's joy as they see those whom they have won to Christ through their prayers and witness. Adam sees the nail prints in the hands and feet of Jesus and falls at His feet crying "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain." Adam sees the garden of Eden again. He sees the very vines and flowers that were there 6,000 years ago.

Jesus picks fruit from the tree of life and offers it to Adam. Everyone sings "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain and lives again." The hundred and forty four thousand sing a new song of deliverance. There is no more sickness. God's children are crowned and live as part of God's royal family.

The earth is left a desolate wilderness for 1,000 years. During this thousand years Satan suffers intensely. After the thousand years Christ, His people, and His angels descend to earth. At this time Christ raises the wicked dead. They see God's Holy City, The New Jerusalem, coming down upon the flattened Mount of Olives. Christ, His people and angels enter the Holy City.

Next Satan and his angels deceive the wicked and prepare for a battle to conquer New Jerusalem. The mightiest army that ever fought on earth attacks the city of God led by Satan and his angels. Christ again appears far above the city, upon a foundation of gold, sitting on His throne. His brightness fills the City of God and the whole earth. Jesus pronounces sentence upon those who have rebelled against His law and persecuted His people. Each is conscious of every sin they have committed. They see how they have turned away from God's mercy.

As everyone looks up they see an outdoor movie using the sky as a screen. Above Christ's throne everyone sees the very moment Jesus was born into this world in a stable with animals. They continue to watch as they see a movie of His actual earthly life, baptism, fast, temptation, public ministry, deeds of love, agony in Gethsemane, betrayal, mockings, insults, tortures and cruel death.

Satan seems paralyzed as he sees the glory and majesty of Christ. All of the wicked turn their rage upon Satan. Fire comes down from God and also bursts from the ground. The earth's surface turns into a vast, seething lake of fire. Satan receives the greatest punishment in that fire. Satan, his angels, and all of the wicked are reduced to ashes.

There will be no more Devil to deceive people. There will be no more tears. There will be no more night. We shall live in the light of perpetual day. Life will constantly have new challenges that we can achieve. We will wing our flights to worlds afar. Every day we will be happier than the day before. Everyone now knows that God is love and we are forever loved. Revelation chapter 21 and 22.
