13.  Will God use an unimportant person like me? When Jesus called John and James they wondered "Can God use an unimportant fisherman like me?  I've not gone to the Seminary.  I don't know how to preach great sermons.  Why is Jesus calling me?  Why doesn't He call those who graduated from the religious university?"  Those were questions in the minds of John and his brother James.  They caught fish by night and cleaned their nets and repaired their boats by day.  Jesus searched for those He could trust to lead His church.  He passed by the great religious orators, preachers, teachers and self important church leaders.  Instead, He walked down to the lake shore and saw John and his brother James mending their nets.  He looked a little farther and saw Peter and his brother Andrew mending their nets.  He called all four of them and said "You are good at fishing for fish.  'Follow Me and I will teach you how to fish for men.' and for women and children."  God is calling you today just as surely as Christ called those four unlearned men.  They became great leaders because they were willing to follow the carpenter from Nazareth, Jesus.  If you are willing God will perform the same miracle in you as he is performing in the painting contractor from Ohio and the therapist from Indiana who are successfully selling and giving out The Great Controversy.  God will do for you what you can not do for yourself.
