2. What does the author of The Great Controversy say?

The Great Controversy is the most important book to share with others!  The author writes, "The Great Controversy should be very widely circulated. It contains the story of the past, the present, and the future. In its outline of the closing scenes of this earth's history, it bears a powerful testimony in behalf of the truth. I am more anxious to see a wide circulation for this book than for any others I have written; for in The Great Controversy , the last message of warning to the world is given more distinctly than in any of my other books".-- Colporteur Ministry, page 127

The Great Controversy is worth more than silver or gold!  E.G. White writes, "The book The Great Controversy I appreciate above silver or gold, and I greatly desire that it shall come before the people. While writing the manuscript of The Great Controversy, I was often conscious of the presence of the angels of God." Ibid 128.

MEET THE AUTHOR OF THE GREAT CONTROVERSY!

At the age of nine years old the author of The Great Controversy, Ellen G. White, was struck by a rock that caused her to become unconscious for three weeks.  She was not able to continue her education and yet God used her to write The Great Controversy, translated into 78 languages and 39 other books including Steps To Christ which has been translated into 140 languages.  How did that happen to a person that was not able to attend school beyond the age of nine years old?  How did she become the most translated woman writer in history?

It all happened in answer to prayer!  God said "And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days."  Joel 2:28. At the age of 17 she was praying with four other people when God gave her a vision of the future.  God continued giving her visions that made the Bible easier for her and others to understand. God never called her to write an addition to the Bible but only to make the messages of the Bible easier to understand.  All through her busy life she encouraged others to study God's Word.  She was a student of God's Word and pointed everyone to study the Bible for themselves.  

God chooses simple ways to accomplish His purpose!  It is our belief that God is using these very books to help carry "the eternal gospel to . . . those who live on the earth–to every nation, tribe, language and people . . . in a loud voice." We believe that the book, The Great Controversy which is translated into 78 languages, is a part of that "loud voice."  We believe that it is a partial fulfillment of this very Bible prophecy!   Few people have ever written even one non fiction book.  Very few people have ever written 40 non fiction books. And no other woman in history has been as widely translated as Ellen G. White.  Revelation 14:6.

What else does the author of The Great Controversy say?

The real power of The Great Controversy sold today will be seen in the future when its predictions begin fulfilling.  "The results of the circulation of The Great Controversy are not to be judged by what now appears. By reading it, some souls will be aroused, and will have courage to unite themselves at once with those who keep the commandments of God. But a much larger number who read it will not take their position until they see the very events taking place that are foretold in it. The fulfillment of some of the predictions will inspire faith that others also will come to pass, and when the earth is lightened with the glory of the Lord, in the closing work, many souls will take their position on the commandments of God as the result of this agency.  Colporteur Ministry, page 128.

This is God's way of shining His light of truth in this dark world! - "When church members realize the importance of the circulation of our literature . . . Then will she go forth "fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners."-- Manuscript 113.

Don't wait!  Act Now! - "I was shown God's people waiting for some change to take place--a compelling power to take hold of them. But they will be disappointed, for they are wrong. They must act. . . ." Testimonies vol. 1, page 261.

Find someone to daily pray with and encourage!  - "The formation of small companies as a basis of Christian effort has been presented to me by One who cannot err." Testimonies vol. 7, page 21-22.

"And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory."

After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. With a mighty voice he shouted: “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.” Then I heard another voice from heaven say: “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues. THE ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT!

"Jesus came saying, 'GO and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'"  Jesus did not say "Preachers Go."  He did not say "Evangelists Go."  He spoke to everybody that follows Him.  He said to the common ordinary follower like you and me "Go and make disciples." He called carpenters to go.  He called fishermen to go.  He is calling you to go.  Will you obey His commandment? Will you go?  Matthew 28:19, 20.
