Teacher/Staff
Appreciation Week
Several
weeks ago, the nation celebrated teachers everywhere.
We are honoring all of our staff members this week for the
many hours that they dedicate to the students and families of
Tranquility Adventist School.
They are here because they love your children and want to
give them the best education possible.
So, this week we salute the teachers and staff members who
make TAS possible.
Home and School is doing
a great job of showing their appreciation each morning with
breakfast for the staff.
School Spirit Week
We are
enjoying ourselves with the school spirit week.
Silly sock day, Pajama day, it has been fun so far.
To finish out the week we will have Twin day-Wednesday,
Career Day on Thursday, and Crazy Hair day on Friday.
We have appreciated all the students who help keep our
school spirit alive, not just for this week, but for all the days
in the school year.
Constituency
Meeting
This
very important meeting will be held next Tuesday evening on May 25,
2004. Annually the
school calls a constituency meeting according to the school’s
constitution. This is the opportunity for the churches, parents, and
members supporting the school to ask questions, discuss issues and
vote for the upcoming school year.
The meeting this year will be important for the following
reasons:
1. School
budget will be discussed and voted.
2. School
handbook revisions will be presented and voted on.
3. Dress
code will be decided on for the 2004-2005 school year.
This
is your school and it is our desire for you to have a voice in the
policies that make up our school program.
We will be meeting at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening in Miss
Nino’s classroom.
Liberty Science Center
We are
excited to be able to offer this trip on Wednesday, June 2 to the
Liberty Science Center. All
permission slips and money needs to be turned in by Wednesday, May
19. Trip money is
non-refundable as we have to prepay the tickets as well as give an
exact count of adults and students who will be attending the trip.
Bus seats are available first to students who do not have
parents going, then they will be distributed on a first come first
serve basis. You are
welcome and encouraged to attend this end of the year trip with us,
but we need to have an exact count as space is limited in the IMAX
theater. Ticket prices are as follows:
Students attending TAS-$5.00
Adult chaperones-$5.00
Other family members attending $11.00
Tickets
are offered at a discount rate for the students is due to the fact
that the teachers will be using part of their class money to offset
ticket prices. Since
the students have worked hard this year raising money by doing hot
lunches, each class will donate $6.00 toward the price of the
admission/IMAX ticket.
If
we do not have the permission slip with the money by Wednesday, May
19, we will assume that your child will not be attending the trip.
