Split Pea Soup

1 lb. Green split peas |
¾ tsp. Italian seasoning |

2 qts. Water |
1 tsp. Salt |
|
1 stalk celery chopped |
1 onion chopped |
|
1 carrot grated or chopped |
2 Tbsp. Margarine |
| 1 canned evaporated milk |
Place all ingredients except milk in 4 quart pan and boil hard for 15-20 minutes. Turn down heat and simmer until peas are soft, about 45 minutes. Just before serving blend in a blender put back into pot on low heat and add a can of evaporated milk. Heat, but do not boil.
