THE ORIGIN OF
SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISTS
In 1844, as a result of intense study of
the prophetic portions of scripture by earnest
Christians representing various religious groups,
there arose a keen awareness that Christ, our
Heavenly High Priest, upon completing His
investigation of the Life records of all professed
Christians, would return in person to earth with His
rewards. This spontaneous conviction of these
unpopular views caused these sincere believers to be
separated from their churches, as they persistently
held to these beliefs. However, being drawn together,
this revival grew into a world movement encompassing
all but 15 of the 205 countries and approximately
750 languages.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH...
If thou turn away thy foot from the Sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My Holy Day: and call the Sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, Honorable; and shall honor Him, not doing thy own ways, nor finding thy own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father; for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. - Isaiah 58:13-14.
