Often, when people think of Seventh-day Adventist, they consider our world-wide programs - Hospitals, Mission Clinics, Colleges - and Universities, disaster relief programs (ADRA) and Health Education. We believe we should go where the needs are. We at Southside are just as concerned about being of help right here in our community in Bakersfield, California.
EMERGENCY AID TO
THE NEEDY
Our Community Services Center at 1330 3rd Street
supplies clothing, food, blankets, and the other
needs of those who face crisis or disaster.
Emergency food, Budgeting Seminars, Wholesome
Activities for our youth are a few of the programs
presented by our Inner City Department.
NUTRITIONAL
COOKING CLASSES
Practical nutrition instruction by experts, cooking demonstrations, recipes, and delicious samples highlight this delightful class.
HOW
TO STOP SMOKING AND BREATHE FREE
This program can successfully help people stop
the smoking habit. It is directed by skilled physicians
with support of our pastoral staff.
FAMILY
LIFE
This program presents seminars by specialists to various age groups on "how to live fulfilling Godly lives in today's world." Topics such as teenage pregnancy, divorce, child abuse, domestic violence, midlife crisis, singleness, adolescence, and, parenting are only a few of the issues presented. The seminars are presented several times each year.
For men and women who wish to study the Bible
on their own, we provide this opportunity to
discover answers to the questions that affect
your life and happiness. We use the 26 beautifully
illustrated DISCOVER Bible Guides, and provide
them absolutely FREE. We simply send the
Lesson Guides to the home.
This
private school offers quality education for grades
K- 12 for a reasonable price. Parents who wish to give
their children a Christian education are invited to register.
