Kurt and Tawana Threlkeld are originally from Tupelo,
Mississippi. They were married on August 16, 1991. They faithfully
attended the Tupelo Seventh-day Adventist Church where Kurt served as the Head
Elder and Tawana served as the Kindergarten Sabbath School Teacher, Women's
Ministries Leader, and Church Clerk. Following God's leading in 1999, Kurt
and Tawana moved to Collegedale, Tennessee where Kurt attended Southern
Adventist University. In February 2000, Kurt and Tawana began their
ministry in the Guntersville and Fort Payne, Alabama churches. Currently, they pastor the
Shoals, Phil Campbell, and Corinth, MS churches.
Kurt holds a Bachelors Degree in Theological Studies from
Christian Bible College and Seminary and a Bachelors Degree in Religious Studies
from Southern Adventist University. He is currently working on his
Master's Degree in Religious Studies.
Tawana became a stay-at-home mom in February 2004 after the
birth of their son, Cade Addison. She is the webmaster for two
websites--Shoals SDA Church and The Gulf States
Conference Dept. of Women's Ministries.
Kurt and Tawana's main focus in ministry is equipping the laity. In
doing this, Pastor Kurt holds training seminars on various aspects of ministry;
including witnessing seminars, preaching classes, spiritual gifts seminars, and
in depth studies of the Bible.
