Jesus
said, "And surely I am with you always, to the very
end
of
the age"

HOW READEST THOU?
It is one thing to read the Bible through,
Another thing to learn and read and do.
Some read it with desire to learn, and read
But to their subject pay but little heed;
Some read it as their duty every week,
But no instruction from the Bible seek;
While others read it with but little care,
With no regard to how they read or where;
Some read it as a History, to know
How people lived two thousand years ago,
Some read it to bring themselves into repute,
By showing others how they can dispute;
While others read because their neighbors do,
To see how long it takes to read it through.
Some read it for the wonders that are there,
How David killed a lion and a bear; -
While others read it with uncommon care,
Hoping to find some contradictions there.
Some read as though it did not speak to them
But to the people at Jerusalem.
One reads it as a book of mysteries,
And won't believe the very thing he sees;
One reads with father's specs upon his head,
And sees the thing just as his father said;
Some read to prove a pre-adopted creed,
Hence understanding but little as they read,
For every passage in the book they bend
To make it suit that all-important end.
Some people read, as I have often thought,
To teach the Book, instead of being taught;
And some there are who read it out of spite,
I fear there are but few who read it right.
One thing I find, and you may find it too,
The more you read, the more you find it true;
But this to find, an open eye is needful,
With often prayer, and humble heart all heedful;
The man who reads with pride or inattention,
Will only find full causes of dissension,
The man who reads with modest penetration,
Will find the joy of comfort and salvation.

MAY
ALL YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE
Sometimes we wonder,
"What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God
have to do this to me?" Here is a wonderful explanation! A
daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong,
she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her
best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if
she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely
Mom, I love your cake" "Here, have some cooking
oil," her Mother offers. "Yuck" says her daughter
"How about a couple raw eggs?" "Gross,
Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking
soda?" "Mom, those are all yucky!"
To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem
bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the
right way , they make a wonderfully delicious cake!
God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us
go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when
He puts these things all in His order, they always work for
good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all
make something wonderful! God is crazy about you. He
sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning
Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in
the universe, and He chose your heart. If you like this,
send this on to the people you really care about. I did.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we
might as well dance.

Some Rain
Must Fall

One
rainy afternoon I was driving along one of the main
streets
of town, taking those extra precautions necessary when
the roads are wet and slick. Suddenly, my daughter,
Aspen, spoke up from her relaxed position in her seat.
"Dad, I'm thinking of something."
This announcement usually meant she had been pondering
some
fact for a while, and was now ready to expound all that
her six-year-old mind had discovered. I was eager to
hear.
"What are you thinking?" I asked. "The
rain," she began, "is like sin, and the
windshield wipers are like God wiping our sins
away."
After the chill bumps raced up my arms I was able to
respond. "That's really good, Aspen."
Then
my curiosity broke in. How far would this little girl
take this revelation? So I asked.. "Do you notice
how the rain keeps on coming? What does that tell
you?" Aspen didn't hesitate one moment with
her answer: "We keep on sinning, and God just keeps
on forgiving us."
I will always remember this whenever I turn my wipers
on.
Isn't
it distressing to know that when you forward this
message
you will not send it to many on your address list
because you're not sure what they believe, or what they
will think of you for sending it to them. Funny how I
can be more worried about what other people think of me
than what God thinks of me.
In order to see the rainbow, you must first endure some
rain.

NOT OUR FRUIT ALONE
I really like the moral of this story
A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only
two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like
island. The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agreed that
they had no other recourse but to pray to God.
However, to find out whose prayer was more
powerful, they agreed to the territory between them and stay on opposite
sides of the island
The first thing they prayed for was food
The next morning, the first man saw a
fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The
other man's parcel of land remained barren.
After a week, the first man was lonely and he
decided to pray for a wife.
The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the
only survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the land.
On the other side of the island, there was nothing.
Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day,
like magic, all of these were given to him.
However, the second man still had nothing.
Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife could
leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of
the island. The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave
the second man on the island.
He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's blessings, since
none of his prayers had been answered.
As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven
booming, "Why are you leaving your
companion on the island?"
"My blessings are mine alone, since I was
the one who prayed for them," the first man answered.
"His prayers were all unanswered and so he
does not deserve anything."
"You are mistaken!" the voice rebuked him.
"He had only one prayer, which I answered.
If not for that, you would not have received any
of my blessings.
"Tell me," the first man asked the voice,
"What did he pray for that I should owe
him anything?"
"He prayed that all your prayers be
answered."
For all we know, our blessings are not the
fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying
for us.
With obedience
come blessings. My prayer for anyone who reads this is that
their prayers be answered bounitfully!!
Be
blessed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lessons Learned:
If I did not hurt, I would not know His
Comfort.
If I did not cry, I would not know His tender
wiping of my tears with His Love.
If I did not hunger for God, I would not know
His Fatherhood.
If I did not feel helpless, I would not know
His great Power.
If I did not long for quietness, I would not
know His still small Voice.
If I did not long for peace from the turmoil
of my restless thoughts, I would not know the Comfort of His
Presence.
If I was not weak in body, I would not know
His healing & strength.
If I had all the answers to my questions, I
would not need His Wisdom
If I was always brave & strong, I would
not know the infusion of His Power
If I did not feel overwhelmed by manipulation
of others, I would not learn to "Let go"
If I was sufficient in myself, I would not
know God's provision through other people
If I did not find a "something
missing" in this world, I would not long for Heaven
If He did not teach me, I would shrivel up
like a dry leaf.
But I know He loves me, no matter what.
