The Rainsville Seventh-day Adventist Church is thankful for the leadership and ministry opportunities that enable us to reach our community for Christ.  Listed below are the ministries that are active in our local congregation.

Community Services:

For more than 100 years the Seventh-day Adventist Church has sponsored social work, disaster relief and public health services in North America and around the world.  It views the church as a servant body.  Created for service, Christ's followers serve the Lord in praise, serve one another in love, and serve the world in humility.

The Rainsville Seventh-day Adventist Church carries on this tradition by serving our community through discovering the needs of the community, mobilizing a response to specific concern, organizing programs, and meeting the financial, physical and spiritual needs of individuals.

Health Ministries:

The Health and Temperance Department serves as a resource for information and counsel on health and temperance affairs; advises the Church and its departments and related agencies on health and/or temperance related policies and programs; promotes a healthful life-style among church members through literature, programs and Sabbath services; provides through publications, services, and programs, an ongoing witness to the world concerning the physical, mental and soul-destroying effects of tobacco, alcohol and other substances.

Personal Ministries:

The Sabbath School/Personal Ministries Department was established as a major setting for religious education in the Church. It exists to teach and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in response to the command of Jesus, in the context of the three angels' messages of Revelation 14:6-12. To honor this original purpose, the Sabbath School/Personal Ministries Department continues to communicate the good news with the objective to win, hold, and train for Jesus Christ, men, women, youth, boys and girls, in all the world.

Women's Ministries:

The Department of Women's Ministries is committed to encouraging, challenging, equipping, and nurturing Seventh-day Adventist women as they do their part in carrying the Gospel message to the world.

"The Lord has a work for women as well as for men. They may take their places in His work at this crisis, and He will work through them .... They can do in families a work that men cannot do, a work that reaches the inner life. They can come close to the hearts of those whom men cannot reach. Their labor is needed ." -- Welfare Ministry, p 145.(From the 1997 -1998 GC Working Policy)
