Read a copy of God's great origianl Ten Commandments in Exodus, chapter 20! "Then the temple of God was opened in heaven, and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple. And there were lightnings, noises, thunderings, an earthquake, and great hail." Revelation 11:19

John writes in the book of Revelation that he saw the ark of God, containing the ten commandments. In vision, he saw the Ten Commandments in heaven fifty years after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. "The temple of God was opened in heaven," and John, the writer of Revelation, looked in and saw inside God’s temple. He saw "the ark of His covenant" (Revelation 11:19) in the most holy place. The ark in the tabernacle on earth contained the two tables of stone, upon which God wrote the words of His law. The ark was merely a container for the tables of the law. Page 120 God, With His own Hand, Wrote His Law on Two Tables of Stone The Bible is made up of sixty-six different books written by forty different men filled with God's Holy Spirit. According to the Bible, the only words God actually wrote with His own hand are the Ten Commandments! He wrote them down twice. The original is in heaven, and the copy was given to Moses and all mankind at Mount Sinai. God considered his Ten Commandment law so important that he wrote His commandments in stone, to show that they never change.
Of those Ten Commandments God wrote with His own hand, one begins with the word remember. It was God who wrote, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days will you labor, and do all your work: but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God." God Himself says, "I the Lord do not change." Malachi 3:6. God knew people would change, so He took the trouble to write with His own hand on one of the two tables of stone the words, "Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy." Read what God wrote in Exodus, chapter 20. God wrote His law on two tables of stone kept in the ark within the sanctuary on earth. God, also with His own hand, wrote His great original law that is kept in the ark in God's sanctuary in heaven. Within the holy of holies, in the sanctuary in heaven, God sacredly elevates His holy law. The law of God in the sanctuary in heaven is the great original. The ten commandments written by God, Himself, on the two tables of Stone and recorded by Moses in the book of Exodus were an exact copy. "Until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law." "Your word, O Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens." "All His commandments are sure. They stand fast forever and ever." Exodus 20, Matthew 5:18, Psalms 119:89; 111:7, 8, KJV.
God Knew People Would Forget! So He Said, "Remember." In the fourth commandment God wrote in stone with His own finger--"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Page 121 Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." Exodus 20:8-11, NKJV. Look up the word Sabbath in the dictionary. What do you find? "The seventh day of the week."
Notice! The fourth commandment says the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord, not the first day. It is not the Sabbath of the Jews, but it is the Sabbath of the Lord. Look at your calendar and find the seventh day. It is Saturday, not Sunday. Saturday, the seventh day of the week is "the Sabbath of the Lord." It is the Sabbath, not a Sabbath. It is The Sabbath of the Lord, not of the Jews, Seventh-day Baptists, or Seventh-day Adventists. Many people, when confronted with these truths, have become convicted that they have ignorantly broken God’s law by disregarding the Creator's rest day. They see themselves disobedient to God’s law, sorrow fills their hearts, and they choose loyalty to God by keeping His Sabbath holy.
The earthly sanctuary is a pattern of the heavenly sanctuary. The law in the ark, the gold-plated chest, in the earthly sanctuary is an exact copy of the one in God’s great original ark in heaven. We then know that the fourth commandment is important to obey as well as all the others. Man may try to change God's law on earth, but he will never succeed, because the great original is in the ark of the covenant in heaven. All mankind will be judged by that great original law of God, written by God Himself. Will You Follow Jesus? "What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open." "See I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut." Revelation 3:7, 8. The open door is the door into the most holy apartment of the heavenly sanctuary. In 1844 Jesus shut the door to the first apartment of the sanctuary and opened the door to the second apartment, the second division of His work in Salvation. He wants us to follow him there by faith. |
