Introduction
What
Did
Jesus
Do?
Jesus was tortured with lack of sleep and lack of water. He was condemned
to die the cruel death of the cross. He was innocent of all charges. He was
sinless. He carried your sins and mine and paid the full price of our salvation
by dying the death we deserve, our sins deserve. Roman soldier lashed His
back at least 76 times, ripping into his muscles and blood vessels and nerves.
He willingly laid down naked upon the cruel cross while Roman soldiers drove
large square nails through His hands and His feet. They raised that cross
with Jesus nailed on it and let it drop, with a THUD, into the hole
prepared for it. When the cross hit the bottom of the hole, the flesh in
His hands and feet ripped and gaped with His blood dripping to the ground
around the cross. He did all this to pay the full penalty for your sins and
for mine. He was unrecognizable as the blood matted His hair and His body
was contorted by pain. He took it all, all you deserve and I deserve, that
our sins deserve so that we might have all that He deserves.
Jesus was innocent and the governor, Governor Pilate, knew He was innocent.
Jesus did not attack the Governor as an evil man that should be replaced
by Peter or John or one of His disciples. He never argued politics. His goal
was much more important than who was ruling at the moment. His goal was much
more important than to try to argue about who was good and who was bad in
politics. Jesus never argued for the Pharisees or the Saducees, the Republicans
or the Democrats. We should follow His example. Isaiah wrote about Jesus
and said “He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers
is silent, so he did not open his mouth.” Isaiah 53:7.
WHAT WAS THE VERY FIRST JESUS TAUGHT HIS DISCIPLES?
(after He chose to suffer and die in our place?)
Now I have a very important question to ask you. What was the very
first thing Jesus taught His disciples after He chose to suffer and die
in our place? If we could find out what was the very first teaching Jesus
taught His disciples after paying the full price of our sins and opening
heaven and eternal life to sinners we might find out what Jesus and God the
Father think is the most important doctrine or teaching that we should teach
another person first, just as Jesus taught it first!
THE ANSWER IS IN THE 24th CHAPTER OF LUKE!
Luke 24 records the very first time Christ taught His disciples anything
after His death on the cross and His resurrection! His teaching was so important
that Christ disguised Himself so that His disciples would listen to Him rather
than just be satisfied with the miracle of His resurrection. Today many put
miracles first and trust in miracles. Christ hid the miracle of His resurrection
momentarily and disguised Himself so His disciples would listen to the
real evidence, the evidence from the fulfilled prophecies of God's
Word!
”He said to them, ‘How
foolish you are, and how slow of heart
to
believe
all that the prophets
have spoken! Did not the Christ
have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?’

with Moses and all the prophets,
he explained to them what was said in all
the Scriptures concerning
himself.

The very first thing Jesus taught His disciples
after He chose to suffer and die in our place was Bible Prophecy! It is fulfilled
Bible prophecy that builds faith in God's Word.
The ancient prophets knew that the coming
Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. They foreknew that He would not
be accepted by the majority of religious leaders. They foreknew the very
year, day and hour He would be crucified and foretold this exactly, hundreds
of years before it happened.
After Christ was crucified and rose from the dead, He disguised Himself
and taught two of His disciples about Bible prophecy. He wanted them to listen
to the evidence from the prophecies of Micah 5:2, Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, Daniel
9 and other prophecies. You see prophecy is the strongest evidence that the
Bible is true. Christ was born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2). Micah, the prophet,
predicted that He would be born in Bethlehem hundreds of years BEFORE
it happened. Isaiah, the prophet, foretold His death (Isaiah 53) and so did
David (Psalm 22). It was the prophet Daniel who foretold the exact
year of His baptism and the exact year of His crucifixion, 500 years before
it happened
(Chapter
9) . Christ gave us these prophecies
to establish our faith in God’s Word and in the exact outcome of the
future prophecies from Daniel and Revelation

A Note from the Author
Where did I come from? Why am I here? And where am I going?
When I was just seven years old I was riding a bicycle and was hit
by a drunk driver who ran over me. Everyone thought I was going to die. It
was decided that the hospitals in Great Falls Montana were not adequate at
that time to handle such a problem as mine. I was flown hundreds of miles
to a wonderful Catholic hospital, Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane Washington.
God worked through the wonderful physicians and nurses and related staff.
I'll always be thankful to God and to the fine doctors and nurses at that
wonderful Catholic hospital. I'm also thankful for the many fine Christians
of all denominations who prayed for God to work a miracle and heal my broken
body. It was touch and go for 16 days but finally I regained
consciousness.
What would have happened to me if I had died?
After I regained consciousness the physicians reported to my parents.
"He will never be able to walk or talk again." I remained in the hospital
for many weeks. Mom and Dad never really understood the Bible and never taught
me God's word. I fooled the doctors and regained my ability to walk and talk.
But I grew up wondering about life and death. What would have happened if
I had died? What happens to people after they die? Do they just cease to
exist? Do they go to some exciting place called heaven? Do they go to a place
called purgatory? Do they go to hell? Do they come back as animals or other
people? What a mystery! It all seemed so impossible to understand. I didn't
ever think I would find an answer to my questions. It seemed as if there
were hundreds of thousands of ideas about life and death. It seemed like
everyone had a thought, a guess, and that was it. Nobody appeared to know.
I thought I would probably live and die without finding out until possibly
after I died, if there was an after life.
No answers at the University
I attended the University in Missoula, Montana when I was seventeen.
My freshman year at the University didn't provide any answers to life and
death questions. I asked myself "Why am I here? Where am I going? What happens
when I die? Is there life after death? Is life worth living? What is my purpose
in life? My classes in the University and social life just created more
questions. My professors didn't have any answers. After my freshman year
at the University I was no closer to finding answers.
Answers in Daniel and Revelation
That summer I got a sales job that allowed me to meet hundreds of families
in Lewistown Montana where I worked that summer. Still my mind was wondering.
Is there a God up above? Where did I come from? Why am I here? And where
am I going? God in His mercy allowed me to meet a very warm and friendly
Christian couple Matt and Gail Byers. Matt was able to answer questions that
I thought were unanswerable. He gave me a compass and an anchor for my life
that I've always come back to. The very first time he opened his Bible in
front of me was to share the wonderful prophecy from the second chapter of
Daniel. The second chapter of Daniel gave me my first compass and anchor
for the faith I developed in the Word of God. It is my prayer that the great
prophecies of Daniel and Revelation will provide you with the same wonderful
answers that they have provided me with.
The Son of God died for you so that you could become a son, or daughter,
of God.
At the Cross God paid the full price of your sins so that He could
give you eternal life! He will give you a wonderful exciting, never-ending
life of adventure if you will let Him. Jesus said it like this "For God so
loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes
in Him should not perish but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). I
confessed my sins to Jesus, believing He would forgive them just as He promised
to do. I've found peace of mind and a life of adventure.
Choose Life, daily!
Your adventure will begin when you believe that God loves you! Look
to Jesus! God's Word says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just
to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John
1:9). Confess your sins to Jesus. Believe Him. There is nothing you
have done that Christ will not forgive if you ask Him to forgive you.
Repent, turn to Jesus now and throughout each day. Talk with Him as
with a friend. Pray - Prayer is talking to God as to a friend. Ask Him
to live in your life daily. And daily read His Word, the Bible, in a translation
you can understand. I like the New King James Version, NKJV.
The Bible, Your Road Map!
Spend time reading the great stories of Jesus in the books of Matthew,
Mark, Luke and John in God's Word. Seek to learn God's last warning message
as found in the last book of the Bible called Apocalypse or Revelation. Pray
each day before reading God's Word. Use this book Prophecy Made Easy like
you would use a pair of reading glasses. This book Prophecy Made Easy is
not a Bible and it is not your road map to everlasting life. The Bible is
the road map. The book Prophecy Made Easy just magnifies the Bible and makes
it easier to see, just like reading glasses. Without my reading glasses the
road map I use in traveling doesn't make much sense to me because I can't
see it clearly. My desire is to help you understand your road map to everlasting
life, your Bible. Ask God to send you His Holy Spirit to help you understand
His Word.
As we continued to study the books of Daniel and Revelation together
I found the hope and joy and answers that a few weeks earlier had seemed
so impossible to find. Matt and Gail are now dead but I plan to meet them
when Jesus comes again and enjoy their friendship forever. It is my firm
desire that I may meet you in heaven and enjoy your friendship throughout
eternity also!
God will answer all your questions!
If you will let Him
Over the years I have continued to study the books of Daniel and Revelation
and the entire word of God, especially the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and
John. God has made the visions of Daniel and Revelation come alive for me.
It is my prayer that God will use Prophecy Made Easy to help answer many
of your questions and provide you with the answers your inner spirit hungers
to understand. Christ is coming back to Planet Earth and is eager to take
you home to live with Him forever. It is my prayer that you will understand
and prepare for this glorious adventure that will never end.
Christ came the first time to pay the full penalty for all your mistakes
and sins. God's word teaches us that "all have sinned and fall short of the
glory of God." And that "the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is
eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." The Son of God became a man that
men might become Sons of God and daughters of God. I invite you to come with
me and join me as friends throughout eternity. I invite you to read this
book "Prophecy Made Easy" as we look together at the visions of the past,
present, and future that God gave to the prophets Daniel and John many centuries
ago. Romans 3:23; 6:23.
God's Word, the Key of Knowledge!
It is sad that the very religious leaders who should have given the
people the keys to their questions actually hid the keys to God's amazing
answers. Christ condemned them and said to them "Woe to you lawyers! For
you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves,
and those who were entering in you hindered." The purpose of this book, this
study guide, is to return "the key of knowledge" back to you the reader.
