Inspirational
Christian Books
by Ellen G. White
Ellen G. White is considered to be an inspired messenger of God. She was
a prodigious writer, and six of her books have been converted to HTML format,
and may be accessed through this page.
Steps to Christ, was crafted to lead the reader to Jesus Christ.
The other five form a set covering sacred history from the garden of Eden
to the second coming of Jesus Christ. Patriarchs and Prophets spans
world history from creation to the close of David's reign. Desire of
Ages, the third book, discusses the life and ministry of Christ. Prophets
and Kings fits between these two. Acts of the Apostles portrays
the history of the early christian church. The Great Controversy
traces the conflict--between God and Satan--to our day and then on in a
prophetic vein to the earth made new.
-
Steps to Christ - The reader is pointed to Jesus Christ, who is
able to meet the needs of the soul. It leads the seeker after righteousness
and wholeness of character, step by step, along the way of christian living,
to the fullness of blessing which is found in the complete surrender of
self. It reveals the secret of victory over sin.
-
Patriarchs and Prophets - This book discusses Satan's rebellion
against God. It vindicates the ways of God in dealing with rebellion, and
shows the wonderful grace of God in devising a way of salvation for sinful
man. It chronicles how the plans and purposes of God were clearly unfolded
to the chosen people. It takes the reader from the Garden of Eden through
the reign of King David.
-
Prophets and Kings - This volume opens with the account of Solomon's
glorious reign over Israel (a united kingdom) and with the temple of Jehovah--the
center of true worship. It shows how the chosen people were torn between
allegiance to God and serving the gods of the nations about them. During
a crucial period of world history (Solomon to Jesus Christ), the book presents
dramatic evidence of the raging conflict between Christ and Satan for the
hearts and allegiance of men.
-
The Desire of Ages - The purpose of this book to show Jesus Christ
as the one whom satisfies every longing. Many excellent books have been
written on the life of Christ. These are excellent sources of information,
elaborate essays on chronology and events, and insightful glimpses of the
many-sided life of Jesus of Nazareth. Yet it may be truly said, "the half
has never been told."
-
The Acts of the Apostles - The Book of the Acts was written by Luke
(a gentile convert) for the whole church, jews and gentiles alike. It is
filled with important lessons for the church in every age. God clearly
indicates that the christian today shall experience the presence of the
same Spirit who came with power at Pentecost and fanned the gospel message
into a flame. The acts of the Holy Spirit through Peter and Paul, John
and James, and others, can be repeated in the modern disciple.
-
The Great Controversy - opens with the sad closing scenes of Jerusalem
after its rejection of the Man of Calvary. The book points the reader to
the persecutions of God's children in the first centuries; the great apostasy
which followed in His church; the world-awakening of the reformation, in
which some of the great principles of the controversy are clearly manifest;
the awful lesson of the rejection of right principles by France; the revival
and exaltation of the scriptures, and their beneficent, life-saving influence;
the religious awakening of the last days; the unsealing of the radiant
fountain of God's word, with its wonderful revelations of light and knowledge
to meet the baleful upspringing of every delusion of darkness.
