Gary Macomber was raised in Kalkaska, Michigan from the age of four. He is a graduate of Kalkaska High School where he was active in the athletic program. Upon completion of high school he attended a series of colleges and graduated from Andrews University with a bachelor of arts in religion and history and a minor in mathematics. Upon graduation in 1991 he was called to the Minnesota Conference as an intern pastor for two years. After returning to Michigan he taught grades 5-8 at Northview Jr. Academy. In 1998 he accepted a call from Weimar Academy to teach math and history as well as assume the vice-principal responsibilities. In 1999 he felt the Lord’s call back to pastoral ministry in Michigan where he was ordained in 2002. In 2003 he returned to Northview and accepted the principal’s position. He currently teaches grades 7th-10th. Gary is married to his beautiful wife Gail and they have two children Colby & Raini. Gary & Gail have one “cute” grandson, Joshua. They enjoy traveling, especially on mission trips, as well as canoeing, backpacking and tennis.Shannon Lucas teaches 1-6 Shannon Lucas: Mrs. Lucas is the only child of Robert and Sheila Burnette. Her family moved often, but Shannon was raised most of her life in Columbia, Maryland. Shannon attended Great Lakes Adventist Academy her junior and senior year. This is where She met her husband Dr. Ryan Lucas. During their Senior year they enjoyed doing a Mission Trip in David Panama where they helped build a 4 building school. Shannon and Dr. Lucas then attended Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. They enjoyed many sports such as camping, hiking, repelling, white water rafting and scuba diving. Shannon graduated May 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts. Her endorsements are Elementary, Kindergarten, and Junior Academy General Sciences. Shannon and Dr. Lucas were married in August of 2000 when she moved out to St Louis, MO so that her husband could finish his Chiropractic schooling. During that time she was a Teachers Aid, and a Special Education Teacher for grades 1-6. After her husband graduated in December they moved to Care, MI where Shannon finished the year as a substitute teacher. That summer they moved to Marion, MI, where they still reside. This move gave her the opportunity to work at Northview and for her husband to continue his practice in Clare. In 2003 Mrs. Lucas began as a teachers aid for Mrs. Joanne Jordan at Northview, before assuming the full time teaching position of a teacher who left for health reasons. She completed the 2003-2004 school year teaching grades 5-8, and began the 2004-2005 school year teaching grades 1-6.
