Adventist Student's Essay Wins Top Place in Grand Bahama for Tourism
Letitia Bullard, a 4th grade student at Grand Bahama Academy, a K3-12
Seventh-day Adventist Christian educational institution in the Northern Bahamas,
was announced on
Thursday, May 15 the winner here in Grand Bahama for her essay in the “My
Caribbean Essay and Speech Competition”. This contest was open to students
between the ages of 8 – 12 and is showcased by Condé Nast Traveller Magazine in
conjunction with the Caribbean Tourism Organization and coordinated by the
Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Education, Toastmasters, and the Bahamas Hotel
Association. Letitia’s first place win in Grand Bahama qualifies her
essay to be in the national finals next Thursday, May 22, 2008 in Nassau. The
topic that Letitia had to address was: “If you could share a secret about your
island with someone visiting for the first time, what would it be?” She wrote
about: The Rand Nature Centre. Letitia is the daughter of Keith and Laurie
Bullard and they are members of the Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church. Kudos,
