Adventist Student's Essay Wins Top Place in Grand Bahama for Tourism

Letitia Bullard, a 4th grade student at Grand Bahama Academy, a K3-12 Seventh-day Adventist Christian educational institution in the Northern Bahamas, was announced on Thursday, May 15 the winner here in Grand Bahama for her essay in the “My Caribbean Essay and Speech Competition”. This contest was open to students between the ages of 8 – 12 and is showcased by Condé Nast Traveller Magazine in conjunction with the Caribbean Tourism Organization and coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Education, Toastmasters, and the Bahamas Hotel Association. Letitia’s first place win in Grand Bahama qualifies her essay to be in the national finals next Thursday, May 22, 2008 in Nassau. The topic that Letitia had to address was: “If you could share a secret about your island with someone visiting for the first time, what would it be?” She wrote about: The Rand Nature Centre. Letitia is the daughter of Keith and Laurie Bullard and they are members of the Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church.  Kudos, Letitia! May God continue to bless you, your family and Grand Bahama Academy.
