North Bahamas Achieves Conference Status
|

Conference
West Indies Union Conference now has six conferences. The North Bahamas
Region has progressed from Mission to Conference status. This was
announced by Pastor Patrick Allen, President of West Indies Union
Conference of Seventh-day Adventists at Symposium 2008,
held at the Northern Caribbean University (NCU) on Saturday November 22,
2008.

NBM Music Workshop Crescendoes with a Grand
Community Concert |

The
first annual music ministries workshop of the North Bahamas Mission of
Seventh-day Adventists reached a
crescendo in a Grand Concert at the Hilton Outten Convention
Center in Freeport, Bahamas on Sunday night, November 16 to a packed
house of community enthusiasts. Local and overseas guest artists sang to
the glory of God. The workshop coordinator was Mrs. Lynn Smith.

Amazing Facts Campaign Being Held in Abaco

Jéan
Ross, the director of church ministries for Amazing Facts and co-host of
the popular radio program Bible Answers Live is the evangelist for a
series of meetings that began on Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Long
Bay School Auditorium in the city of Marsh Harbour on the island of
Abaco in the northern Bahamas. This community outreach campaign is
proving to be a great blessing to the people of Abaco. |

New School Sign Donated to Grand Bahama
Academy |

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Burrows, members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
in the north Bahamas, donated a new school sign to Grand Bahama Academy
(GBA) in honour of their son, Joseph Darius Burrows, a former student of
GBA who was tragically killed a few years ago while pursuing tertiary
education in Jamaica. Mr. Burrows is a church elder and member of the
school board. The dedication ceremony was held on Friday, November 14,
2008.

Kudos for the NBM Pathfinder Band |

At the
Executive Committee meeting of the North Bahamas Mission of Seventh-day
Adventists held on November 9, 2008, it was voted a letter of
commendation to the NBM Pathfinder Band for the unprecedented level of
growth, development, and outstanding performances displayed by the Band
this year as well as their accomplishments, community and government
recognition. The Band is also commended for the launching of its
"official" website.
