Titanic: Are We Next?

How do you know that a lot of people have a deep sense that the Titanic movie is an omen for the state of the world today? Who has said that?

The statement that Titanic is an omen for the state of the world today is a general statement that we can see from all the media hype. The movie was seen by million of people. The media presented the Titanic movie on TV (especially MTV and others, Internet and cinema, papers and many others. A good argument is that, even though I live in Romania, in our country the movie was advertised very much, and many peoples saw that movie. Well, I hope you'll find good this answer.

What did Dwight mean when he kept talking about the idea that "there hasn’t been a normal birth in our family for three generations?

I believe he was getting across that in these last 100 years or so there is an abnormality in the air. Something is poised on the horizon and we all can feel it yet were blinded by the time that were living in. Something is happening to this world, both physically and spiritually.

How do I understand Revelation with all its symbols and things? How can I understand what it says about the "end times?"

Revelation is the last book in the Bible. It cannot be understood outside of biblical context as a whole. It is CRUCIAL to examine the Old Testament allusions in the text of Revelation. When you find puzzling text in Revelation try to find parallel text in the Old Testament. Revelation is TYPOLOGICAL book. That means that it uses OT imagery and explains New Testament reality. Just read the Bible from the beginning, and then examine every puzzling text in Revelation in the light of its parallel in the Old Testament. Then you will find a clue to understand the texts. This is not an easy task. Take your time and pray before that that God can enlighten your mind. Many of the meetings in the Next Millenium Seminar will also help you understand the book. Keep listening.

During the first seminar, the point was made that God created Lucifer perfect. How could he have been created perfect if he chose to sin (by choosing self over God)? Even being given the freedom of choice, a perfect creation would not have made an error in choice (which is imperfect).

Yes, Lucifer was created perfect. Ezekiel 28:15. Notice that he was perfect until a certain time: "till iniquity was found in thee." So if we think of this as two points, with initial perfection on one end, and iniquity having become present at the other end, that leaves us with a transitional period, somewhere during which, Lucifer chose to go the wrong way.

Remember that Lucifer was created perfect, yet it is impossible for a being to be created mature, unless you preprogram it and make it basically a robot--a being without a will that is truly its own. Lucifer was probably given some infused knowledge in the beginning, like the ability to speak in understandable language. Probably things like that, very basic equipment. But as far as being free to make his own choices, that was also something that God gave him. If god intervened at every point, Lucifer would not have been truly free. So God left open the option that he could choose to go his own way, and yes, become lifted up in himself. Ezekiel 28:17 helps us understand: "Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness..." Now God gave Lucifer his beauty and wisdom. But Lucifer exercised his freedom and let it go to his head. I do not think that was any defect in his creation. God made him perfect in the beginning. But he chose to sin, to became a "satan," the Hebrew word for adversary.

You see, I don't think that the suggestion you made will really hold up (that a perfect being cannot err). Absolute perfection belongs to God alone. Even angels--which are created beings--are finite, limited beings. They can err. But to err is not necessarily to sin. It becomes sin when it is cherished. Lucifer cherished that which was wrong, and remade himself into a being opposed to God down to the core. I am sure that God tried everything to woo him back before he took he final step and crossed too far into rebellion to ever be cured. But Lucifer refused to respond to God's love. He went his way.

God made Lucifer perfect, but not mature. He gave him free choice, because if he hadn't, He really wouldn't have made Lucifer capable of loving. God only makes the intelligent order of beings in His image so that that they can love. And that means that they can choose not to love. I think that is part of the risk of love.
