"A Touch of Class" - 2002 Youth Banquet

The Le Cordon Bleu Banquet Hall was abuzz with excitement and activity on Sunday, December 15, 2002 as Northeastern's Finest came to celebrate the 2002 Youth Awards Banquet. Unofficial count put the number at close to 1, 000 youths and youth leaders.

After the greetings from dignitaries and the completion of the necessary preliminaries, the conferring of awards began in earnest. There were spontaneous applause as clubs, areas and young people were presented with their awards. in the Pathfinder category, the Mount Vernon Dolphins Pathfinder Club was crowned Champion Club for the fourth year in a row.

Giving his closing speech, Youth Ministries Director, Pastor Newton Cleghorne thanked everyone for coming and remarked that it seem Northeastern Conference youths have outgrown the Le Cordon Bleu. Does that mean we will celebrate the 2003 Awards Banquet at another location? Stay tuned.

The 2002 Youth year, theme and theme song were then officially retired as the group looked ahead to 2003 and the theme "Powered to Change". The new theme song "Powered To Change", written by Christine Virtue and composed by Orville Daniel was previewed.
