Nashville First Profile

 

            As our name implies, Seventh-day Adventist worship on the Seventh day of the week, the "Sabbath" of the Ten Commandments. We are known as "Adventists" because of our belief in the imminent Second Coming (advent) of Christ.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church grew out of a world-wide religious revival in the mid 1800's. People of many faiths came to believe that, according to Bible prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ was at hand. When He didn't come at the expected time, some lost faith, but others refused to give up their faith in the Bible, and the "Blessed Hope". Titus 2:13

After careful study and research, they realized that just as there was a time of warning and call to repentance before the flood, and again before the first advent of Christ, just so the whole world must hear the Gospel and be warned of Judgment before the Second Advent.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church was organized in 1863 to carry out this Gospel Commission. Matt. 24:14; Rev. 14:6-12

Today it is one of the fastest growing churches in the world, operating in some 200 countries, with a membership approaching 10 million. It proclaims the Good News of the gospel in 713 languages and another 1000 dialects.

This expanding movement includes a humanitarian program for the needy and disaster victims, recognized by the Red Cross as one of the largest and most efficient in the world.

The church also operates one of the broadest centralized educational systems of schools, colleges, and universities in the world.

The Nashville First Seventh-day Adventist Church, as a part of this great church family, also has its own program of services.

Community Services

 

            Our church cooperates with local public agencies in providing emergency assistance to persons in need, as in case of a fire or other misfortune. Pathfinder and Adventure Clubs

 

Similar to Boy Scouts, the Pathfinder Club at Nashville First provides a wholesome program of Christian-oriented activities for 10-15 year olds, including camping, crafts, honor projects, nature study, etc. They have uniforms, learn drill exercises, respect for the flag, and engage in community service projects. The Adventure Club is for Children under 10 years of age. Children from non-church families are welcome to apply.
