OUR PASTOR

Elder Vincent E. White, Sr. has served as a pastor in the South Central Conference of Seventh-day Adventists for twenty-three years. He began his ministry under the mentoring of Elder Eric C. Ward, serving as his assistant at the Mt. Calvary SDA Church in Huntsville, AL. He has pastored the following churches: Maranatha SDA, Gulfport, MS; Ephesus SDA, Meridian, MS; Sylvarena SDA, Sylvarena, MS; Lima Drive SDA, Lexington, KY; Calvary SDA, Campbellsville, KY; Harvest SDA, Harvest, AL; Trinity SDA, Athens, AL; College Hill SDA, Knoxville, TN; and Sevier Street SDA, Harriman, TN.

Elder White is a graduate of Oakwood College, Andrews University Theological Seminary, and the University of Kentucky. He has a Master of Divinity degree and a Master of Social Work degree. He is trained in Clinical Pastoral Education (Chaplaincy), and is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry degree in Leadership at Andrews University Theological Seminary. He is the author of the book Problem Solvers and Soul Winners: A Handbook for Deacons and Deaconesses. He has conducted training seminars for deacons and deaconesses throughout the South Central Conference, and in churches in other conferences in the North American Division.

He is happily married to Audrey Johnson White. They have been married for thirty-six years (November 27, 1969). Audrey is a homemaker and author of two vegetarian/vegan cookbooks-Angel’s Sweet Tooth, and Vegetarian Recipes for Busy People. She has conducted numerous church sponsored cooking classes. Prior to being a homemaker, Audrey was employed at the U.S. Census Bureau, Washington, D.C.; Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL; and Keeler Air Force Base, Biloxi, MS. She also served as an assistant teacher at the University SDA School, Knoxville, TN.

The Whites have two children, both graduates of Oakwood College; and two grand children. Their son, Vincent, Jr., is studying to become a chiropractor at Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic in Spartanburg, SC. He will be graduating in 2006. He is married to Shalonda Edwards White. They have a five-year-old daughter name Tiara, and a one year old son name Christian.

Elder and Sister White’s daughter, Angella, is the Marketing and Promotions Coordinator for the News Sentinel in Knoxville, TN. She also does freelance writing for the News Sentinel and Southern Tidings. Angella is also working on a Master of Communications degree at the University of Tennessee. She currently serves as the Communication Secretary for the College Hill SDA Church, Knoxville, TN.

Elder White loves the Lord, his family, and God’s church. Both he and Audrey are happy to be a part of the Mt. Calvary Church Family again. They look forward to Jesus’ glorious appearance, and by God’s grace they plan to be saved in God’s Kingdom.
