Sabbath Services
Adult Sabbath School
There are two main classes for Adult Sabbath School. Everyone meets collectively at 9:30 for song service. After a prayer for our teachers, the classes divide at 9:40. In the main sanctuary there is a 15-minute segment for the superintendent's remarks before going into the lesson study at 10:00. The group that meets in the church discusses the Sabbath School quarterly, and the group that meets in the fellowship hall is specially oriented for new believers.
Children's Classes
The children participate in the song service in the main sanctuary before dividing at 9:40. Each children's class meets in a separate Sabbath School room. We have a cradle roll class (ages 0-3), a kindergarten class (ages 4-6), a primary class (ages 7-10) and a junior class (ages 10-13). Classes are scheduled to begin at 9:40.
Church Service
The church service begins at 11:00 with a song service and announcements and time for prayer requests and testimonies. The service typically finishes around 12:15 p.m.
Special Services
Prayer Meeting
Everyone is encouraged to attend the weekly prayer meetings on Wednesday nights at the church. There is usually a small talk and a time to share concerns, thanks, and prayer requests and to lift up one another in prayer.
Communion
Our church has communion once every quarter. Communion is typically integrated with the usual Saturday church service and consists of a foot washing ceremony (separated into groups for men and women) and the taking of the emblems (bread and grape juice). Communion is a special time of remembrance for the sacrifice Jesus made and a time of cleansing and forgiveness for each participant.
Winter Concert Series
Each winter, our church organizes a series of concerts from various artists. Past performances have include Joey Tolbert, the MacDonald family, Yolanda Harris, Dennis Ainsworth, school choirs, and others.
Christmas Program
Although the program is different each year, our church family has consistently put on a special service at Christmastime that utilizes the vast array of musical talent in our congregation. Members often sing special numbers or give readings of Bible verses or poems in remembrance of Jesus' birth. A choir is almost always present to sing favorite Christmas hymns and carols.
