Dear Saints,
You know what 'saints' means, don't you? One who is
set apart for holy use. Yes, that us! And believe me, the PM Team has been
busily planning and praying about how all of you can be used in a holy way!
As the team thought about the next year, we set the following goals:
1) For our church to be a good place for guests and members, where all
can experience God - especially in Sabbath School, the worship service and
prayer meeting.
2) To equip members to minister to others. To be able
to share the good news comfortably and skillfully; to be able to initiate
spiritual conversations, and to invite others to events at the church as a
means of connecting them to more people and greater spiritual influence.
3) To create venues where members can pray and discuss with other
members how their efforts in witness are going, and to seek counsel and wisdom
from them, as we all work to enlarge God's kingdom. This will also include more
ways to communicate and care for one another. In a practical sense, we are
discussing the conversion of one wall of shelves in the coat closet to
cubbyholes, one to each family unit for this purpose. It has worked very well
in other churches. Also, a member calendar to share ideas, opportunities and
events with each other and as potential witness to those we invite. We ask your
input on these two ideas. If you need more info, contact any of us, but
especially Esther and Penny.
We desire to set up a Reconciliation
Ministry for inactive and former members. If you are interested in this, let us
know. Also, I would like to ask you to email me with your thoughts on how to
make our worship services more inspirational to you - where you feel like you
and anyone you have invited would experience God's presence.
Lastly,
consider this: "But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling
of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work
and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night and day difference He make
for you - from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted." "Everything
that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by
getting to know, personally and intimately, the one who invited us to God....So
don't lose a minute in building on what you've been given, complementing your
basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, alert discipline,
passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love,
each dimension fitting into and developing the others. With these qualities
active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day
will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master
Jesus....So, friends, confirm God's invitation to you, His choice of you. Don't
put it off; do it now. Do this, and you'll have your life on a firm footing,
the streets paved and the way wide open into the eternal kingdom of our Master
and Savior, Jesus Christ." IPeter 2:29, 11Peter 1:3,5-10 Message Bible.
God bless you,
Pam.
