Minnesota Award - Balloon Art

Requirements:

1. Explain some safety rules for Balloon usage.
   • Children should use a pump to blow up the balloons.
   • Never stick the balloon in your mouth.
   • Never blow up a balloon near someone's face.
2. Explain why you do not blow the balloon up all the way when making balloon animals.
3. Which end of the balloon do you start twisting from.
4. Make a balloon dog.
5. Make a balloon hat.
6. Create 5 different types of animals from memory:

   Directors: Since there are many different ways to make the "same" animal ... make sure that you teach more than just the basics

   • Basic: Dog, Giraffe, Dauchsund, ...
   • Ram, Moose, Reindeer.
   • Horse, Parrot, Mouse.
   • Teddy Bear juggling 3 balls riding a unicycle.
   • Anything else ... have some fun !
7. Share your talent doing an approved outreach activity ( at least 1 hour )
   • Make balloon animals at your Church's fair booth.
     • Can be used in conjunction with the Fair Booth Evangelism requirement:
   • Visit people in a nursing home.
8. Explain why a baby should not be given a balloon to play with.
9. What is "latex allergy", and why should you be careful at hospitals.
10. Send a report detailing the completion of the above requirements.
