About Us
The
Melbourne Seventh-day Adventist Church is a local Christian church
of the Florida Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. The
vision of our church is not to reach for the gusto of this world,
with a life-is-short attitude, but instead to make preparations
corporately and individually for the eternity awaiting us through
the grace of God, and to share our Hope (Jesus Christ) with those
in the world around us.
Mission Statement
Proclaim,
to all people in South Brevard County and the world that God is
loving, merciful and just as He endeavors to restore all of His
creation to full harmony with His perfect will and righteousness,
Lead, people to accept Jesus as their Saviour and to unite
them with His church, Nurture, each other with
love and compassion in preparation for His glorious return.
Method:The
Saviour mingled with the people as One who desired their good. He
showed His sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won
their confidence. Then He invited them to follow Him. Realizing
that Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching
the people, we choose to make His method our own and pursue this
mission under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through:
Preaching: Accepting Christ’s commission as found
in Matthew 28:18-20, we proclaim by precept and example Revelation
14:6-12 to all the world the message of a loving God most fully
revealed in His Son’s reconciling ministry and atoning death.
Recognizing the Bible to be God’s infallible revelation of
His will, we present its full message including a second advent
of Christ and the continuing authority of His Ten Commandment Law
with its reminder of the Seventh-day Sabbath.
Teaching: Acknowledging that development of mind and character
is essential to God’s redemptive plan, we promote by precept
and example the growth of a mature understanding of a relationship
to God, His Word, and the created universe.
Healing: Affirming the Biblical emphasis on the well being
of the whole person, we make by precept and example the preservation
of health and the healing of the sick a priority and through our
ministry to the poor and oppressed cooperate with our Creator in
His compassionate work of restoration.
Motto: Into All The World
