Recently our Church in Marystown had a week long Vacation Bible School (VBS). We did not know what to expect because it had been about 6 years since the last one had been run. So we really did not know what to prepare for. So you an imagine our shock and thankfulness as 22 children showed up on the first day. Then the next day the number grew to 26. God truly blessed our Church and the town as these young people ranging in age from 4-12 found a friend in Jesus during that week. Many people helped in conducting this VBS from our Church and they too received a blessing from it. The children did not want it to be over when Friday came, and their Parent's could not believe the progress the children had made. We had a graduation for the attendees on Friday night August 27th. The Church was packed and the parking lot was over flowing with cars. We had 24 kids of which only 6 were Adventist, God is good!! The program was directed by my wife Danette Long, the VBS leader. The children sang songs, and received their well deserved Certificate of Attendance, along with some rewards for their work. After the program a short social was held so that the Parent's could see all the wonderful crafts that the children had done during the week. We can hardly wait until next year!!! Neither can the children!!! |
