Lee Warren from the Grand Bank -Fortune Service, Allan Gerighty & Freeman Collins fron the Collins Service in Burin, Pastor Long, Genevieve Murphy from the Burin Peninsula Health Care Emergency Room Staff, Derrick Kearney from Kearney's Service in Lawn, and Ross Murley from the Marystown's Service.
November 13th was a very important day in our Church here in Marystown. That is the day in which we chose to recognize the efforts of the Emergency Medical Services in our area. Ambulance services were invited from Marystown, Burin, Grand Bank- Fortune, Bay L'argent, Terrenceville and Lawn. All of which attended except for Terrenceville and Bay L'argent. We also had the staff and management from the Burin Peninsula Health Care Hospital Emergency Room. That day we had nearly 60 people in our Church to help show appreciation to these people.
Guest Speakers whom brought messages from their town to show appreciation were: Councillor Florence Welch from the Marystown Town Council (Pictured on the left) and Burin Town Representative Rita Lundrigan. Both gave inspiration and memorable speeches to those in attendance.
After a message from Pastor Long the Ambulance Services were each presented with a Certificate of Appreciation, and the Emergency Room was presented with a Plaque to hang at it's facility.

A lunch was provided by the members of the Church and all had a good time. When it was time for dessert one of our members, Kay Murley from Lewin's Cove had made a special EMS cake in which Pastor Long and representatives of the Ambulance and Emergency Room cut the first slice. People could not stop talking about the blessing they received on that special day.
Church Improvement Project!
The Church members gathered their time and energy to raise funds for our Church improvement project by selling great tasting cold plate dinners. The benefits of which you can see in the "before and after" pictures of our Sanctuary!
The picture on the left is the "before" picture. We sold 440 Cold Plates ( Turkey, two potato salads, two jello salad, roll, and stuffing) for $ 5.00. The Church raised approx. $2200.00 to go towards the repairs. For pictures
of the Cold Plate Dinner Sale see the October Listing of Special Events!
