Welcome To The Deacon's Corner
"Those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and great boldness in the faith that is in Christ Jesus." 1Timothy 3:13 Letter to DeaconsMarch 25, 2003 Hi Everyone, I want you to know how very much I appreciate your help as a part of the deacons’ ministry. It is your active participation that makes things come together in so many ways. My vision is that every man in our church has the opportunity to participate in the practical work of the church body. In other words we work in practical ways to ease the burden on the pastors and help members in need. When you do this you are a powerful force for good in our church. The schedule of who is on duty on Sabbath has worked well so I intend to continue on this path. On the back of this page is the schedule for the next six months. I am sending this to you and each of the pastors. (Note: If you are on this roster and did not actually “agree” to be a deacon, please do not panic. I was asked to list those who have agreed to help regardless of their capacity. This, however, does not lessen my appreciation for your help!) Deacons, if you find that you will be away from Marietta on any given Sabbath, you are responsible to arrange a substitute. First, try to arrange a substitute among your fellow team members. If that fails I will be glad to suggest some names or try to help you find someone. Thank you! I know God will richly bless you as you reach out to serve others.
