The Adventurer
Leader's Prayer...
Dear Lord,
There are some who would gather money
Along the pathway of life.
Others
would gather roses,
And still others would rest from worldly strife.
But Lord, my heart you
know.
I would gather boys and girls
From among the thorns of sin.
I would seek the black or brown coarse locks,
A dirty face, and the toothless grin.
For money, Dear Lord,
cannot enter
Into the land of endless day;
And roses that are gathered
Will son fade, lose their fragrance, and wilt away.
But, oh, my Lord and
Saviour,
As the gates swing open on Heaven's door,
It is my "Beautiful Little Flock" of children
That will be with You and me forever more.
So,
Dear Lord, if I get discouraged and sad,
Take my hand and whisper in my ear.
Remind me that life is not all bad,
That You have been here and Your help is near.
When criticism wounds me
deeply
And I feel like giving up,
Just remind me in Your way, so sweetly:
We will be home with You at the last trump.
