LAND AND BUILDINGS

"Our schools should be located away from
cities on a large tract of land so the students
will have opportunity to do manuel work."

E.G.White.
Land
Primary: The land chosen for this level is located on the right side of the Ochique River. This level will function in the village itself, so the little children don't have to cross the river.

Secondary and LI: This last January when I was in Peru, I told my uncle Hector--my mother's youngest brother--about my idea of having a private school in San Marcos. He showed great interest in it. As I said in the introduction, since I first had the idea, he always wanted to support me. Thus, the last time I talked my plans over with him, once more, he told me that he would like to join with me in this adventure.

Right away we decided that his land would be a perfect place for this purpose. This land is located on the left side of the Ochique River--just in front of the primary school's land. We decided on this land because it is a very private area and we will have enough land to make the school grow in different areas.

Buildings:
Primary: There is a house on the land that can be adapted to be used as a primary school. The other alternative is to rent the building of the ex-Adventist school. Then we will build classrooms designed according to pedagogic rules.

Secondary: The first classrooms will be built with rustic materials. Later on, it will be replaced by classrooms built according to pedagogic rules and in the definite place.

Language Institute: To start it will be built just one simple classroom where the SSL classes will take place. The EFL students will use the same classroom as secondary school. Later on, (second phase) the LI will have its own building which will include a language lab.

INDUSTRIES
Agriculture
It is planned to give the students the opportunity to work in the cultivation of rice, beans, corn and pasture for the cattle. What's more, there will be fruit trees for school consumption and the food factory.

Raising cattle
This activity was always one of the strongest economic sources in San Marcos. Raising cattle will provide work to many of our students. At the same time this will serve as a source of food.

This activity will be one of the strongest sources of alimentation. It will give us the opportunity to have milk, cheese, butter and yogourt for the students and teachers as well as for selling. It is planned to use this source in the Food factory to make different kinds of cheese, yogurt and sweets.

Raising Chickens
To provide eggs for the cafeteria and work for the students.

Bakery
To provide income for the school, work for the students and bread for the cafeteria.

Food Factory
To take advantage of the products of the area while providing work for the students and income for the school.
