"Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me . . . who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; who redeemeth thy life from destruction." Psalm 103:1-3

Psychological-based recovery puts me back where I started. Spiritual-based recovery--regeneration--is a method by which God changes me.

I am born again from within. I belong to God, and now want to be surrendered in and to His love. God's grace has made me a new person.

I grow by feeding my needy, unnourished soul upon His promises to me, taking confidence in His acceptance of me. I communicate my needs, joys, anxieties, and thankfulness to Him in prayer. I take counsel from God through His holy word. I am guided by the Holy Spirit. I worship the Lord Jesus Christ, and walk daily with Him.

In this 'new' nature, I choose to be with God and His people, do His will, sharing God's work, spreading the good news of the gospel and recovery. I rejoice in seeing others saved.

From a seminar, "Breaking out of Denominational Denial," presented by Pastor Hal Gates, Founder/Director, SDAxA Regeneration Seminars.
