The Seer And His Work

How blessed is the prophets pen
And strange the garments that they doff
How great the duty of such men
To work for God while others scoff.

How great the love that they unfold;
Inspired men so noble true;
And blessed is the message told
That in the Bible we may view.

Theirs is a sacred special trust
Who by their sighs and grief and tear
Bring to a mortal of the dust
The joy of Jesus to appear.

They give a world that’s seeped in sin
A Jesus hanging on a cross;
The Son of God of heavens kin;
To purge away earths shame and dross.
