The Hidden Prayer

This is a prayer that we would hide,
Yet in our heart shall ever live.
For t’was for us our Saviour died
And made this plea that God forgive.

For you, for me, that gasp was hurled
The tide of evil hate to stem.
That you and I might grasp the world
And like the Saviour not condemn.

Compilers note: This poem sat hidden for many months from my view. It was found hidden behind a picture that was pasted in place on one side so that it could be folded back to reveal this poem.

It is believed that there are two reasons for this poem having this name. One is that it was hidden and the other is that it speaks of those prayers of repentance of sins to ugly for us to share with another person, thus the  name: The Hidden Prayer.
