Now this incident happened to a boy called Bernardo. He was 7 years old when this happened. He was playing one afternoon when his mother told him to come inside because it was getting

dark and the snakes would be out soon. Ignoring her warning, he continued playing, thinking it wouldn't matter if he played a little longer. Before he realized it the son was going down. So he hurried down to the creek to take a bath and he figured he'd be back in no time at all. Now since it was dark, he could not see the snake and had no idea that he would be it's next prey. He quickly took a bath and while he was drying off, the snake, noticing it's chance, leapt out and struck him.

Immediately pain spread up his leg and he yelled for help. One of the village men quickly came to his aid and took him back to his house. They tied his leg and tried to stop the circulation as best as they could. His relatives rushed to the captain's house to call for a flight on the radio.

Soon the plane came and Bernardo was flown to Georgetown, the capitol of Guyana. As he mounted and dismounted the plane, he was scared and afraid of what was going to happened to him. As he saw the strange sights he got even more afraid. At that time oh how he wished he had listened to his mother!
