Joplin Globe Spelling Bee: Students in grades 4-6 will participate in the spelling bee the last part of January. Word lists have been given to those wanting to participate. The school winner will compete in a bee in March at Joplin, MO.

Tlangsang India Project: Our goal is to raise $5000 to build a cafeteria for the Tlangsang School in India. We have about $1000 to date. Students are working on collecting money. Spread the word to your friends and relatives. Soon we will reach this goal.

National Geography Bee: Congratulations to Eric Daniels, an eight grader, for winning the National Geography Bee for 2006. He will take a test to see if he qualifies for the state level. Weston Hosteter, a fifth grader, came in second. Thanks to each student in grades four through eight for your participation.

100^th Birthday: OAS will have a Birthday Party on Jan 25^th to celebrate the 100^th year of the school and the 100^th day of school. We will be releasing balloons and giving away prizes.
